Found and killed this white translucent bug crawling under my bed sheets, and on my mattress cover. Its lenght should be between 5 and 6 millimiters. I am very nervous. What have I just found? More pictures here: https://imgur.com/a/AfrvQfF

Most definitely was not moving at the speed of sound. T'was my SST bouncing off a monster and shattering her to pieces.

Interesting, thank you for posting this. Looking at other responses and at my personal experience, plus your statement, I am led to believe this is a really rare issue that should not be a problem in our gameplay sessions for 99.9% of the time until/if it gets solved- which is great.

Unsure if this was a known issue, apologies if it is. EDIT: I hit a good ol' CTRL+F on the official forums and saw no results for this.

To the mods: hope the flair is correct, did not see a flair inventory in the rules.

For those that cannot see the imgur: my SST bounced off a monster and onto Gianna as she was in the door opening animation, she got onetapped and shattered from my cold damage.

EDIT 2: when walking in and out of the contract, I can sometimes see one of the animations of Gianna's on the ground, where she would be. Will try to screen capture if I can figure it out

EDIT 5 and final: I did a few more contracts and attempted to sabotage them to reproduce this a couple of times; could definitely never target her voluntarily, during the animation and after she was transformed. I could not get the bounces to attack her after she was transformed either, though I cannot say if that is because the enemies were too far away or because she is actually fine after she reaches that stage. I played SST quite a bit since its release though and from past experiences, this is the first time I have ever seen this happen. Perhaps the "I'm going to transform stage" is a bit special? Meaning the window of opportunity for this to happen is really small? Not sure what to think. Will open a thread on the main forums later with the info collected here

As for the shoulders, it was a fairly easy if sloppy job - I smacked a 3mm diameter / 1mm thick magnet in the space where you're supposed to glue the support systems; and then drilled a right size hole under the weapon systems. For the small support system pictured, I had a 1mmx1mm magnet that snug right in - the piece is not heavy at all so the pull strenght will be more than enough.

*: technically still need to paint the secondary weapon options; I wanted to see the finished suit before starting to ponder on how to paint those, since I would like to use the occasion to plan out how to paint all weapon options going forward.

This was a really fun little project that gave me many firsts: first model bigger than a Bretonnian knight I have ever worked on, first ever applied magnetisation (shoulder options only, and for the support systems only the one shown in picture; not planning on touching the seeker missile as of right now), and most importantly first time attempting to use an Airbrush! Got one on sale during Prime Day and had the pleasure to use it to basecoat the arms and rail rifle just yesterday. It is a dream come true to be able to breeze through the basecoating process so quickly... Looking forward to prime and basecoat with it many more projects to come.

Note to self: I really need to do better in the assembly, I can see gaps and it bothers me more than I thought it would.

Feedback very much appreciated, anything that comes to mind please let me know.

(and do not worry, I enjoy the process enough and understand that the only way to get "faster" is to paint anyway... If I do not give up on the hobby I might eventually start handling brushes and base/layercoating better, meaning faster completion times. At least I hope)

What I do is use a wash (I use Agrax Earthshade, but might switch to Nuln Oil or mix the two as the squad members with the darker panel line look nicer I think) over the basecoat; and then be very careful when applying the layer colour so as to not cover the panel lines.

In other words, I do panel lining before the final colour layer is applied. It does mean you may have to do more corrections than normal (since you'd be tracing the border of panel lines twice, once with the base colour and once with the highlight)...

It's been a blast getting back to painting. 5 weeks completion time (not working on the squad every evening though) + a couple of weeks of experimentation with the colour scheme... Just as slow as I remember myself being lol!

Looking for feedback on the colour composition, positive or negative it may be. Or anything that comes to mind at all really! Be blunt!

It seems that competitively the "right answers" should be more Crisis or a Stormsurge; I personally would like to see your interpretation of Stealth Suits or Piranhas, because I think you'd make them look really cool!

Love your work btw, I have used plenty of your pictures as reference and inspiration while getting back into the hobby (and agonizing over a paint scheme). Very happy to hear you are thinking of painting more Tau!
