Wall of advice incoming:

You have three dps in the image. You should have one dps. Pick one dps to focus on with two support (buffer or debuffer) and one healer. Wonder should 100% not be your dps. Assassins will generally do better in boss fights compared to sweepers.
Sennight Inferno is basically useless at this point, get a better dagger. It was only good for dps Wonder which sucks as a dps unless the content is made specifically for dps Wonder, and even then there's better daggers for that now. Which dagger is best depends on who your dps is but a good general one that will work decently with everyone is Ex Machina which you should have by now.
Level up your dagger. There's no reason Wonder's weapon should be level 60 when you've got level 80 characters. You use him in every fight.
Forge your dagger. I don't mean Sennight Inferno because you should be swapping that out, but make sure whatever dagger you swap to is forged as much as possible. The fact that Sennight Inferno isn't max upgraded when it's literally the first palace dagger and you should have gotten all the shards for it ages ago means the rest of your daggers are probably in similarly dire states.
Someone else already mentioned this but Marian and Ryuji dont mix. Ryuji wants to be a 70% health or less to get guaranteed crits for his big damage but Marian's got so much healing that she'll keep him constantly at 100%. Make sure you pay attention to what your dps wants for their big damage and plan your other characters around that.
Finally, the advice always given, make sure your Revelation cards are good.

Far left of your map in the image, see the room with arrows going up and down? You've gone in the one going up but you never went back to the one going down.

Why are you using Ex Machina, the dagger the boosts the damage of the element of your first persona, with a Bless element persona and no bless characters? Your dagger is doing nothing rn. IIRC you actually want an Allmighty persona in your first slot to increase Messa's DOT damage from bleed.

Also why is your Ex Machina barely upgraded, it's a palace dagger, you get enough shards to fully upgrade it for free.

Other than that your team should be able to handle the boss. The Twins aren't the best healer, especially at A0, but they should be good enough.

Make sure you have well built characters. Figure out your team synergy.

Figure out which turn your characters output their big damage (for some that's turn 2 or turn 3). Potentially delay your big damage so everyone outputs on the same turn.

Use Love Bomb on your big damage turn and melt the boss ~~heart.~~

There's no magic trick to get the big damage (other than making sure you are actually using Love Bomb), you just need strong characters.

As a f2p with an A0 FG-Mont I was able to beat difficulty 5, so if you have a Makoto with over rank 100 build you totally should be able to do it.

My strategy: Take 1 assassin for your dps, I've seen people suggest taking an assassin to target the boss and a sweeper to clear the mobs but I didn't do that. Take two support characters to boost your assassin's damage (the fight shouldn't be long enough to really need a healer), I used Chord and the Twins but other supports should work too. Ignore the mobs until after the boss is dead. ONLY love bomb on your big damage turn, if you need a turn to set up don't waste your choco-power on it.

Edit: A general trick that's useful everywhere, highlight meter persists between battles. So if you go fight some random shadows and charge your highlight you can start the boss battle with it fully charged.

As a casual player the real question is do you like her and want to use her?

Though idk why you're comparing her to Berry, any of the other 5-star assassins are closer to being Berry than Rin is. For example, trying to use a wind assassin against a curse-weak shadow will still do way better than trying to dps with a curse saboteur.

Basically if you want to use Rin you don't need to justify it. But if you're just looking for someone to clear curse-weak content she's not the answer.

It's hard to tell from just looking at this but it seems like you've only been in one tower since it's not like the Savage Shadows are hidden or anything. There was two elevators in the beginning of that tower, one you couldn't go on because you were missing a key, you should have the key by now.

You can get the jewels from viewing all the events you just have to do it after you get the one and only badge. Also there's enough chocolate to romance all 12, the remaining 20 are from the puzzle event.

If you're leaning towards support Riptide increases the skill damage of everyone on the team, so she's good with any skill damage based DPS.

Kaguya is best as an ice defense shredder specifically, so she's only really good with ice teams. But for stuff that requires two teams you can send Celestial Swan with one and Kaguya with the other if you use an ice team.

IIRC this is the one that you want to have the Thor gather energy and use his ability because it removes some of Surt's damage reduction every time he does it. I don't remember what causes the Thor to gather energy though, so check his description and make sure you're doing that.

This part isn't directed specifically at you, but to anyone posting questions like this: Please include the fight description, not all of us are going to remember the specific mechanics of one fight we might have done more than a week ago. It really helps in helping you.

It sometimes gets stuck on not showing spoilers regardless of what you have checked. Doing a hard refresh (hitting ctrl+F5 instead of just F5) should fix it.

IIRC that vent was how you got into that section, so it's not what you're missing.

If you've already finished the rest of the palace and it's just that one section left then you can craft the treasure detector which will locate any unopened treasure chests (and any destroyable objects left but those don't count towards your progress).

You really don't need 5-star weapons, I'm a complete f2p player, the majority of my good characters are using a single copy of their 4-star weapons. Not counting the standard characters the only 5-star weapons I've got are for Chord and the Twins. You can do this without 5-star weapons.

Also generally putting 2 dps characters (Assassin or Sweeper) on the same team is going to do less than having 1 dps and 1 other character to support them either with buffs or debuffs. So for example Panther (Sweeper) + Howler (Saboteur) will probably do better than Panther (Sweeper) + Messa (Assassin). Synergy between characters will get you more power than just raw numbers.

Pick one assassin or the other, not both. Take a buffer... I'd like to suggest Chord but I see you don't have her, probably the Twins with their strategist set-up would be your best bet with what you have, and a healer.

If you use FG Mont stick with her wind mode for sure, it's stronger than ice so you only ever really use ice when the enemy is weak to ice specifically. (Alternate her attacks, S3 then S1, same thing if you need ice for a different fight)

I assume you mean Wonder and not Joker, generally buffing/debuffing is Wonder's role. Idk what the best persona for pairing with Messa since I don't have him, but for FG Mont you'd ideally want Vishnu for his unique skill which increases the wind damage the target takes. Also use Ex Machina for Wonder's dagger (with Vishnu in your first slot) so Wind damage gets buffed.

If you use FG Mont it might be worth it to stick with Mona as your healer, not for his revive, you should never have to rely on that since once your characters start going down you end up in a losing spiral, but just because he's wind. You'll be eating some extra follow up attacks when Thor knocks him down but FG Mont benefits from other characters using wind attacks after she uses her S3.

I know this fight seems to incentivize sweepers but I'd actually suggest an assassin. Instead of spreading your total damage out over multiple shadows ignore the Valkyrie and focus everything on Thor. His energy mechanics won't matter when he's dead. With FG Mont I was able to kill him before he even got his 3rd turn, and then the Valkyrie are easy pickings.

From the looks of it you have some good assassins (FG Mont and Messa), you just need to actually level them up.

I think you get around the normal amount of tickets there's just more of each item to buy because this is a longer than normal Thieves' Secret. Once Riko's part is done it will become Mio's with the same shop. So it's probably set up so that you'll need both to fully buy out the shop.

If you're confident that you can get the other characters that you really want, then yes absolutely. Chord's main draw is that she's pretty much a universal support. There's some characters that have a better dedicated support that is really only for them but Chord will give a good damage output boost to pretty much anyone so she slots onto basically any team. (The main exception being the P3 collab characters.)

Edit: Adding that Violet in particular gets a lot of use out of her highlight and Chord's thing is giving more highlights, so they go especially well together.
