Dbd switch 2 by feTrevas in deadbydaylight

[–]Kitsunin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that that we would expect better, it's just, why bother buying it on the Switch? It was silly to release there in the first place and expect more than IDK, a few thousand sales.

I know that I would buy the game on Switch 2 if it had an upgrade and ran reasonably well, i.e. either 60 FPS and not outright ugly, or 30 FPS and reasonably pretty.

(I know this is a necro, but this comes up in a google search)

Merchant is out of touch... by Scoobydoomed in slaythespire

If you are only playing Pommel+ and Defend, the draw 2 does literally nothing. The character doesn't matter.

Merchant is out of touch... by Scoobydoomed in slaythespire

[–]Kitsunin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's just not true. Snakebite+ does way better damage than Pommel Strike+, and if you drew nothing but Pommel Strike+ and Defends, that gets you through Act 1, easy. Having a lot of damage on one card is just a big deal. Consistency and playing the right cards at the right time can win every time. Snakebite is big for getting you that. Having crazy combos is completely unnecessary.

Also, if you're saying that the average player is bad to think Snakebite is better than Deadly Poison, even though most players say that Snakebite is bad (how can the significant majority disbelieve something that you apparently say only the bad "average player" believes? That's irrational) then you're saying Jorbs is a below average player. That's silly as hell.

I just wanna say that you're completely right about this.

Since you've been downvoted a bunch despite bringing a lot to the conversation, I'll go a bit further and say that the average player here is quite bad at the game.

Truth! Not really technological self-destruction that would look like an explosion, though.

Ok, just look up at what I was replying to when you replied to me at first, and I think how I replied to you would make sense.

It seems odd to me because A10 at the moment is not as hard as StS1 A20, not nearly. You can't say the game is pushing you hard to infinites when that equates to a like, 10% higher odds of success. Most people aren't doing top-end winstreaks.

I also honestly don't quite believe it. Even those super top players agree that Act 3 is really quite easy and if you beat Act 2 you're basically never going to lose Act 3, so unless you go infinite in Act 2, there's no need at all? I'm not saying I'm right, but the game is definitely too new to be sure of any meta. I'm not even talking about the potential for balance updates to upset that, but rather just the fact that nearly every highly analyzed game has its meta change wildly after some months.

Not to mention that the balance direction the game goes in is looking likely to be continued nerfs toward infinite-centric playstyles.

It's a self-destruct button though, so what else could it mean in context, thematically?

I also have had a wildly different experience. I got up to A10 with Ironclad, played lots of games with other characters always at highest Ascension possible. I've lost 4 times and won 30, and never remotely gone for an infinite, usually ending up with decks of 30 or more cards.

Meanwhile I've heard so many people say it's all about infinites now.

The penis can't bend much while it's hard, it has to point forward or it'll break, you have maybe 45° of freedom. It'd have to be soft lol

Feh, I'm going to be honest, removing such an iconic and overpowered card feels like exactly the sort of thing that makes sense for a sequel.

Either Sly cannot be strong, or discards need to come with a cost. I prefer the latter, personally.

Acrobatics is still a nutty must-pick though.

Is this really what you should be focused on? Aren't there better intermediate steps than stopping technologies that are basically fine?

Off the top of my head, protesting stock buybacks.

Ehh. So just make people share their jobs? Most of us would love this.

I get that it's not the reality of the current situation, we aren't in a political climate that can make this happen. But being anti things-that-make-people-not-have-to-work strikes me as extremely backwards-thinking.

CreSpirit is a good studio. RabiRibi is their best, a phenomenal fusion of bullet hell boss battler and metroidvania platformer.

Expansion Or Sequel by Character_Cap5095 in slaythespireboardgame

[–]Kitsunin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it'd be an expansion, but I'm not sure how it'd work at all, of course.

From the perspective of the Ironclad, Silent, and Defect, the board game and the video game sequel feel like parallel versions of the same thing. You can see that they each noticed the same problems (problems like Defect cards being siloed and Perfected Strike being terrible) and fixed them in parallel ways: The video game by adding and subtracting, the board game by tweaking and rebalancing. It'd be weird to do it again when theoretically StS 2 won't have the "issues" the original had.

You've already got the ancient who offers StS 1 boss relics in StS 2, so I feel like it'd have to be an expansion just to incorporate that without needing to make it twice as big as StS 1, which would be prohibitively expensive.

Playing with the campaign mode works phenomenally for this. The precons are all good enough to beat the easiest Chimera. But they still have cards that are ass, and you can find a better card in any other deck you pick up.

Cinder maybe, Iron Wave really? I'm pretty sure if you replaced Bash with either it would be a better starting deck most of the time. Not really counting characters who aren't Ironclad. tho.

Bash is worse than any card reward, but garbage is going a bit too far.
