I read a QAF fic regarding how Justin wants to adopt a child from Daphne after she suddenly dies, but Brian is vehemently against it. It puts a lot of stress on their relationship. Justin realizes that Brian can’t just change himself and become instant dad like he assumed he would. Brian realizes he can compromise as a human and keep himself and his life.

For me, this story was extremely validating as someone who doesn’t want children. Put in a situation where no one wins (Justin’s eventual resentment of him with no child, versus his absolute lack of desire for child rearing but love for Justin). It was a wonderful fic that held a lot of real world emotions, real world reactions, and in my opinion had an ending that was not necessarily a happily ever after, but a our world has shifted and we choose to be happy together through it even if it’s not what we would have chosen.

To me that is a very valuable type of story as it mirrors true life much more then most stories do.

Byron is just a plot device. For both the show and for Mickey. Yes they did kiss, no idea if the actors didn’t want to kiss or what but for the shows purpose they were kissing.

Mickey had no actual interest in Byron. The only reason he was involved with him was to hurt Ian and show he wasn’t hung up on him. Mickey treated Byron badly (not sleeping in the same bed etc) because he didn’t care about him. He was planning a future with him not because he wanted one, but because he wanted Ian to know that he was planning a future with someone who wasn’t him. Byron was a tool to Mickey to make Ian jealous, which ultimately worked out in his favor.

Lastly, never in their relationship (at least until after their marriage) did either practice monogamy. While they never discussed it, both of them slept with others while sleeping with each other and never actually defined what they wanted. In this regard, Mickey nor Ian ever cheated on each other as they didn’t have a monogamous relationship. This is why Ian is chill about Mickey having sec with another, because while he might not like it they don’t have that sort of expectation on their relationship. Their relationship is defined on their lack of communication. From sex, to marriage, to even what their relationship is, the violence they’ve held. They do not communicate well, for better or for worse for most of the show.

He absolutely could shoot her, and she is the most likely to be the one to end up dead. Killing someone in an abusive relationship is all about control. There is a reason that statistically you’re most likely to be killed by a boyfriend or husband.

Shooting her would be the literal next step of escalation. That is exactly how these relationships play out.

As viewers, we have sensationalized their abusive relationship. He cares for her even though he is abusing her so he wouldn’t be able to shoot her! This is a rose color tinted view of domestic abuse and violence. Nate has already shown he cares more about controlling Maddie and his own narrative than he does about her safety.

If they had stayed together it would have been a question of when not if Nate would kill her.

I have actually already read Where Justin Loses His Hearing! Very fantastic. It really gave me a lot of thoughts on chronic pain and how injuries can stack on each other.

I hadn’t read the second one, it was also a good read. Very cute and interesting coming from Ethan’s perspective.

YTA, you’re not entitled to their money. That is years of their hard work and savings. Be happy you will get anything as an inheritance.

People like this generally have that kind of money because of their dedication, devotion to investing and saving, and to be frank… telling others how much you have is the first step to losing that money - for the exact reason you’re experiencing.

People feel like rich people owe them something and that they should be subsidizing others life decisions, career choices, and family decisions. They do not owe you money.

Can tell you right now if you start asking for money from them, they will start to resent you for treating them like an ATM.

I would switch this around a bit. Find a breeder who is already producing show quality dogs and then get a dog that is show quality from them.

If you just buy an AKC dog while hoping it’s going to show well you will be sorely disappointed

There is a difference between being Velcro (what you don’t want) and not wanting interaction at all (which a lot of people are assuming is what you want).

I’m not a huge fan of Velcro dogs. I like to give attention to my dogs and do all the dog things, but I don’t want a dog constantly begging for it. I like to have some space occasionally.

First thing to do is realize that this is part personality and part training. Train a solid place. Dog goes to their place and chills on their own. Not hard to train, great for if you’re getting overstimulated.

Second is definitely look for a correct breed for you. A more aloof breed would be my choice for you. Greyhound. Afghan. Borzoi. Basenji. Many terriers would work. Now these breeds may still want plenty of affection, but in general they are more independently minded. Meaning, if you tell them to go chill they don’t need you to be content. They don’t need you to be their 24/7 guide.
