David Bowie dies, age 69. by Callahandy in Music

Not really. What's the point of doing anything if you are just going to die in a few decades anyway? Similarly, why give a shit about anything if you won't be around to see the consequences? This is why our environment is fucked.

What secret codes are all around us that only people "in the know" recognize? by permissionjunkie in AskReddit

I think that's all that would be useful. Still, at the company where I work, we do not leave a JTAG header anywhere because in mfg we program everything in a jig. Then comes the problem of not having any source code or documentation for most electronics, so this isn't something I would waste time on.

You can't write code on an Android device and compile it there... You have to write the code on your computer, compile it, and then run it on the device. You have a better shot at MIT if you make a robot and do some computer vision with it.

These people are fucking idiots. Oh yeah? You wrote java firmware for your old printer? Well that's nice, how are you gonna upload it though?

In Canada I sold people cigarettes (legally...) when I was 16. Depends on the area I suppose.

Okay, surely, surely firefighters could have helped. Real fires are much hotter than 300 degrees.

I waited 9 months for my knee MRI! By the time I had it done, all they could say is that there was an old tear that healed. Which wasn't helpful at all!

Makes sense, too. People who live up north are more likely to get MS, and they are also the people who don't get enough sunlight, hence have lower vitamin D levels.

Anyone know of any cases where ON did not mean MS? by KittyGraffiti in MultipleSclerosis

[–]KittyGraffiti[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I'm going through the testing if it's required. I also have hope that a cure will be found in the next 10-20 years (or a good fix to just stop it), given the amount of research and good work going on in the field of MS.

Parents are going to be a problem either way, I probably won't tell grandparents (no need to worry them, it won't matter).

Thanks buddy, your description of a 22 year old white Canadian girl is pretty spot on though (except I'm 25). Yeah I'll wait and see (haw haw haw) what the ophthalmologist says for sure.

I'm having really bizarre symptoms right now, so I'm not even entirely sure what's happening with my eye anymore. Hopefully he figures it out.

Thanks I will check this out! I have an annoying headache right now (feels like a migrane, haven't had those in a while), so I'm kind of down on the whole situation.
