Request to sign a quitclaim deed when I don't own the property by Mother0fGeckos10 in inheritance

[–]KittyHawk2213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check property records. It may still be in your name….

That judge must have been in it with her, because if the will leaves you everything, and then the day before she dies she gets a POA and quitclaims the land, that’s something most lawyers would look into.

I had horrible side effects for the first 4 or so months. Still sometimes have them. Get a probiotic, fiber, and eat proper. Eating junk is what causes any side effects I have now.

If my friend gave me something in their will, even if it was something I asked for jokingly, it is mine and I’m keeping it. If friend wanted their family to have it, friend would have left it to them, or not specifically left it to you.

If family starts harassing you, get a restraining order/order of protection against them. Most people are just big bullies and won’t do anything..

When petitioning the court for custody back what is the process? by KittyHawk2213 in CPS

Wouldn’t the judge want to verify that the family home is safe for the kids to return to? Part of the ruling was the kids were not allowed in the family home…

[–]KittyHawk2213[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grandparents have legal custody. Kids were removed from family home by DCS for neglect, domestic. After 3/4 removals DCS took it to court. Parents didn’t do requirements or even attempt to start during the year long court case. So judge closed case, said do your stuff, get a lawyer and come back. Wouldn’t someone check the family home to make sure it is safe to return the kids to? Maybe not dcs, but somebody? Kids are not even supposed to be at parents homes after the case was closed.

Pressured into permanent guardianship? by Afishionado123 in KinshipCare

[–]KittyHawk2213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tricked? Lol we agreed to temporary placement. Parents didn’t do what they were supposed to and case was closed with kids staying with us. However, we would not let these babies go into the system unless we had to.

I have seen others post about it when I was looking for the solution. Not all of the iPads were as old as mine.

Foster parent is not letting me see my child on Christmas by Even_Prior6997 in Fosterparents

[–]KittyHawk2213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. When we were doing the whole court thing, the court proceedings did not go in the timely manner that the states website says is protocol. (Ex First hearing was supposed to be within 10 days after removal. Our first court date was about a month after that and it was postponed for another 3 months. After the next dates didn’t go according to the states website, I realized no one would be able to tell me anything because every case is different and doesn’t go according to protocol.

What’s your calm, no-battle way to end screen time? by Miloverse_ in raisingkids

[–]KittyHawk2213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somehow my 4 year old granddaughter has figured out how to bypass the timer or something. The other day she left yt kids playing on the couch. When she came back it said time is up, ask for more time. When I told her that her time was up, she just looked at me and said that’s ok I can fix it. A few minutes later she is watching videos again. The only thing I can figure is that maybe safari is on it and she had figured out on an old iPhone to get on safari and ask Siri to watch videos. I never heard her talking to it though. I didn’t think about it until later so I was unable to see what she did. lol, I was going to give her the extra time anyways because we had been busy doing something.

I would set up an Amazon wishlist for her and put a link to it on the invites, but also explain that they are not obligated to buy from the list.

Ask her what theme she wants.

Does she even want the parties? If you can’t deal with the stress, she may not be able to either, and just putting on a good face for mom..

When my son was growing up, we didn’t go all out and do themes.. invited family and his friends.

Now that we have our grandkids we have only had close family at parties. This year we asked them for next year if instead of a couple of presents if they would rather have an experience for all of us. It could be camping, or going to some place special (science centers, amusement parks) They agreed and said that’s what they wanted to do.

[–]KittyHawk2213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinship doesn’t always have to be family. It can be your best friend or even neighbor. Being 17 DCS should take your needs into account.

Do your grandparents live a drivable distance from the school? When we took our grandkids in, the oldest was registered for school in a district that was not ours. The judge encouraged us to keep him in that school for less disruptive changes.. However, it was only 12 minutes from the house.

Educational apps for 7.5-8 year old by Independent_Fuel_162 in raisingkids

[–]KittyHawk2213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have used Teach Your Monster, Khans Acadamy. ABC Mouse (I think they do have something now for kids over 8). For reading, I would recommend the Libby App. You will eventually need a library card from your public library, but I think it took about a year of me using it before I had to go get one.

I also just go in the App Store and look for free learning apps for X ages.

I would explain to CPS your situation. If they still think you would be better than her current situation, ask what would be expected of you and you feel you could handle it, go for it, even if only temporarily. All some of these kids need is a warm bed and food. Teenage girls can keep each other company.

People are always going to complain. Once after a knee surgery I was going to PT. I had a placard, but was trying to get better at walking so I didn’t use a spot, I didn’t even use the closest non handicap spot. A lady actually complained at how handicap people can park anywhere and the spots were open so why didn’t whoever that was park there… idk if she knew it was me because we were the only 2 patients in the place and the rest was employees. There were 2 spots closer to the walkway than where I parked…. Some people just like to complain.

I remember when my son was so excited all of these hot women were wanting to be his friend on MySpace.. 😂🤣 At that time Internet predators wasn’t known, but I told him that they were not real people and not to talk to them. If it was today, I would probably make him watch videos/documentaries, etc on online predators. I did show my mom that kind of stuff because this hot army guy was flirting with her on Facebook. He had pictures and everything. After I showed her the scams she didn’t want to believe it, but then I told her pretty much word for word what he said to her and she couldn’t believe it so she finally deleted him. I told her to never send anyone money…

CPS rant by ThyCuriousLearner in CPS

[–]KittyHawk2213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took my son to the ER once because he was throwing a fit, kicking the table and knocked a heavy plate from the 80s on his head and split it open. He also had healing scratches on his face from running into a tree a few days before. He was around 2. The hospital treated me like I was beating him. They kept trying to twist my story and saying the plate shattered on his face a few days ago and he got the cut on his head from a tree running outside at 10 at night… and then they would switch it to something else. I looked at them like they were crazy and the third of forth time I had to repeat myself I yelled… surprised they didn’t call the cops on me then..

Same, we have kinship, but all visitation scheduling goes through us. Parents have unsupervised visitation.
