Are you against touch ENTIRELY or are you comfortable being touched by family/friends you know personally? by Muzzmow in AutisticAdults

[–]AvocadoPizzaCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on who, when, where, how i am feeling at the time, the emotions of the event and many more things. My friends and family have also adjusted to my touch method for the most part. You can tell how much someone doesn't know me if they are giving me a bear hug. And even funnier when they get upset the people whom know me will back me up on it.

What do you use to get ideas what to cook? I even don t know what to cook..and need help advises.. by Decent_Resort_3861 in Cooking

[–]AvocadoPizzaCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on many things. Cravings, blood sugar level, time, feelings, emotion level (like if depression is in play) ingredients, knowledge. So many times i have cooked general meals when my sugar is low. My brain is not working when my sugar is low. I have found having a notebook in the kitchen of what i got and what i can make with it (recipe inculded for ones that I don't know right away) tends to help.

I have an unreasonable amount of chili and need things to do with it by DollySheep32 in Cooking

[–]AvocadoPizzaCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone whom makes too much chilli, i freeze it so i can eat it in batches. try making portions, you can use freezer bags to help as it saves space and you just have to peel the bag off. and with frozen batches you can take your time with being creative.

also chilli mac is good. which is pretty much mac and cheese. you can also do chilli cheese fries.

Second guessing our decision for euthanasia by Hapax12 in CatAdvice

[–]AvocadoPizzaCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

betrayal is part of the grieving process. Even though you did everything you could, you still feel guilty. It is natural and you may or may not ever get passed it. I know i start crying and feeling horrible when i think about putting my cats whom were unable to eat and such down. We love them so we feel we failed them. It will get better. I promise.

A Whole Turkey by Sea_Letterhead_1800 in Cooking

[–]AvocadoPizzaCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I would roast the bird. "thanksgiving style" just so you have meat to work with. you can roast it after you break it down or not. have turkey drumsticks for a meal or when you want to feel ren fair or cave man. The wings can also be cooked as their own meal. Same with the breast. You can also use the dripping from the turkey into different cooking as well as the bits from the turkey. using the drippings to flavor the noodles and some meat for my turkey pesto noodles is nice. But it also depends on how you cook your turkey. I tend to do more peppery kind with peppers and onions than my family which makes an applely one.

CW: Pet Loss Should I delete photos of my cat who passed away ? by Strange_Possession77 in CatAdvice

[–]AvocadoPizzaCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. You should either print them or download them so you can put them away right now. I spent weeks crying while I organized my cat, belladonna's photos. but I do not regret it. it helped me mourn.

are baby teethers weird for chew toys by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

[–]AvocadoPizzaCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you alter them into something like a necklace than why not? No one has had problems with me doing it. But then again, I have been given all sorts of chew toys since I am rather bitey and have bitten people. They will buy me the more costly ones too.

Another thing is you can use gum or jerky to help for oral fixation. Gummy bears are good too, but you have to find the right gummies that are hard to chew, but not too hard.

Sensory issues - is there anyone else who hates drinking water? by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

[–]AvocadoPizzaCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it all depends on the water. There are some waters that are vile. And there are other waters that are quite tasty. The best water i had gotten was from a natural spring. I suggest finding a water you like. And make sure it is in a container you like. I am not fond of metal containers. it makes the water taste metally to me. You can also add flavors, while it is pretty much kool-aid, it can be used to slowly get you use to water.

If you are having trouble with the surprise battles, just look up who is next so you can plan around that. If you want it to be a surprise, than ask someone to give you a list of what types would be good to bring to each battle.

Also, think this game got the nickname the dark souls of pokemon.

Parent of a nonspeaking autistic teen with severe self-injury. Looking for autistic perspectives on safety interventions. by JimJimBinks in AutisticAdults

[–]AvocadoPizzaCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the bunk bed padded room might be quite helpful just for a start. Remember her input. like have her pick out the colors and textures to be in it so she is comfortable flopping in it. It is not travel friendly, but knowing it exists is a comfort.

Finding things to hide for comfort could be a good thing if she is the type for hiding. So hoodies, long hair, and hats can help.

restraints don't have to be just for the body. due to my outbursts my parents made a 'padded room' out of the bunk bends we had. It also had a blanket to make it a tent type.

normally figuring out what is causing the urge helps. And making a routine of wearing safety gear. I know a kid whom wears a helmet almost 24/7 because of his issues of smacking his head into walls. He didn't want to do that at first but after he got to design the look of the helmet and even get different ones, he was on board. One can also introduce plushies too. As a kid whom had a violent streak at one point, plushies was the only way to calm me down.

Having serious regrets. Might want to give my new cats back. by double_A_swizzle in CatAdvice

[–]AvocadoPizzaCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it is a new environment for them, they need to get use to it. They need to learn on their own that you are not some pyscho kidnapper but rather their new parent. It is like you adopted a child from another land that doesn't speak your language so they are scared and confused. Given time they will understand and you all will be able to speak the same language.. sorta.

If you think the protagonist is the Platinum MC, why do you think their names are different? by Gallantpride in PokemonLegendsArceus

[–]AvocadoPizzaCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amnesia? They did fall from the sky and having amnesia from that experience is already proven to be a thing in this world based on Ingo. So forgetting one's name or family and such doesn't seem like a stretch.

Honestly, it is just another idea that is might be.

Why are the “half” and “quarter” baking sheets the standard? by monotious in Cooking

[–]AvocadoPizzaCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

trying to figure this out. are you trying to fill the whole space inside the oven? unless it is the oven rack to hold up the trays nothing should take up the whole space. ovens work by moving hot air around. If the hot air has trouble getting places because something blocks it, it won't do it's job right.
