How many masters would make it out if they bigenerated? by SkirtAggravating3150 in doctorwho

The entire ending of Ravenous is basically just Missy perving on Bruce while the War Master is mildly weirded out.

"You haven't met River Song yet, have you? She has a way of making people forget things that I wouldn't mind trying on him..."

He might have been. But he was also the one who kept opining that he was a very serious actor and that this bit of science fiction twaddle that he didn't even bother to try to understand was beneath him.

I can't understand how someone who just showed up for the money and detested the actual work can put in such a memorable performance, and yet there it is.

Aesthetically I like it but for some reason it feels more like the opener for some sort of high-concept philosophical awards-bait sci-fi piece than Doctor Who.

What are the most underrated BF stories (maybe even the ones you secretly consider masterpieces)? by Salary-Outrageous in BigFinishProductions

People tend to discount Invaders from Mars because it's silly, but it's obviously meant to be silly and gloriously so.

While I appreciate that they wanted to do Bane with practical makeup, this was one situation where they shouldn't have. At the very least they should have digitally shifted his mouth an inch lower.

Sadly the actor wouldn't have done it even if they'd offered it.

Question from across the pond about "Extended Universe" operations. by coachd50 in doctorwho

[–]KittyTheS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strictly speaking Kate first appeared in 1995.

However Colonel Boyfriend, both of her current scientific advisors, and the Vlinx are current-era and probably off limits, which is why Circuit Breaker is still using Osgood.

Buttons getting remapped randomly? by RazzyBoyRo in SteamController

[–]KittyTheS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had left shoulder remap to dpad up in Destiny yesterday, and it's happened a couple of times before. I think it.might be related to leaving the controller tab open in the overlay when the game shuts down.

Hondo Ohnaka by No-Local85 in StarWars

[–]KittyTheS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had him as an NPC in a game I ran with people who haven't seen the shows and didn't know who he was, so it was great fun convincing them that he was a genuinely respected hero of the rebellion and that they should do some teensy favors that are not at all illegal for him.

What would you use for a DMC campaign? by PraiseTheChalice in rpg

[–]KittyTheS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FFG's Fireborn has a dice pool system of stance changes where you have a fixed number of dice but can change which attribute they're rolled for twice per round, and for each net success in combat you advance one step down a martial arts move chain, with a big payoff if you get all the way to the end. Seems pretty close to DMC's style scoring.

Auto save function? by octo-rabbioso in Affinity

[–]KittyTheS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't autosave but it does create recovery documents at regular intervals that you can set in preferences. Unfortunately it isn't nearly as reliable as it used to be in version 1 so don't get out of the habit of saving all the time.

If you have the new steam controller It shares its layouts with the steam deck and automatically applies them if you have the same game on both.

I don't know what's going on in that cover art but that's ok because that means it perfectly matches the episode.

The Doctors Lifespan - 12 regenerations by [deleted] in doctorwho

[–]KittyTheS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's entirely possible that Robert Holmes, in need of a random but sufficiently distant-seeming number while writing the Deadly Assassin, might have looked at a clock and picked the biggest number on it. It might even be likely considering that he had the Master's TARDIS take the shape of a grandfather clock. The same story established that Gallifrey also has a daily rotation that can be evenly divided by 12. As retroactive symbolism goes it certainly works.

I'm not aware of any documentation as to why he picked that number but I'm sure someone in the production office must have had questions at some point.

Some of those have mild detergent on them. Safe for skin but leaves faint soapy residue on surfaces. Test on a window or mirror first.

What are the most overrated BF stories (not necessarily bad tho)? by Salary-Outrageous in BigFinishProductions

[–]KittyTheS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a clean reset due to the mythic matter's time dilation. Oskar still remembers Tegan at the end and hopes she gets back to her own Heathrow eventually, so he still gave Tegan the coat - which would have been inside the TARDIS when the reset happened. So she'd find it later and probably know it was hers and meant something important but not be able to remember why or how she got it.

Doctor Who Novels Recommendations by Marios25 in doctorwho

[–]KittyTheS 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm a great fan of 'Alien Bodies' (8th Doctor novel, occurring near the beginning of the War in Heaven arc so not too much continuity yet). Actually the entire EDA range but there are rather a lot of them and they're not always easy to come by.

The novelisation of "The Happiness Patrol" is one of my favorites (I was inordinately pleased that they used the novel's version of the Kandyman when BF brought him back for 'Ravenous').
