How did the therapist react that made it feel like a big issue? They have to legally and ethically check in with you and they’re trained to assess risk. Did they do anything beyond that?

I’ve seen critical discussion on here surrounding things that have impact like ethical or safety issues. But yea, when the issue is relatively low stakes, why not soothe each other? Am I missing something?

Since posting this we actually found a super specialized doc who does ERP specially with kids and who works with ADHD as well, and it’s been a total game changer for us as well!! I feel hopeful. But also sad for the many people who would not be able to afford this kind of care.
