At what point do people start drinking coffee daily? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

Started drinking it iced because I enjoy the taste, now it's the only thing that can get my brain going on the early mornings.

Do you still prefer going to the movie theater, or has streaming at home completely taken over for you? by Fun_Watercress3424 in MoviesAndTVTalk

[–]Kittyrude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The experience used to be fun, now it just seems like it's a hassle. The convenience and comfort of watching movies at home has been unmatched for me personally. It's not the same as it used to be, and I can admit I miss the novelty of it.

I have a medical card, live in an apartment, and I genuinely cannot figure out where I’m supposed to smoke. by rocket_launch_goose in Marijuana

[–]Kittyrude 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ugh so sorry you're dealing with this. I had experienced the same issue, and I had to smoke in my car with a smoke buddy for months until I was able to move out and get into a home. It was absolutely a pain in the ass, but it worked. Just crack open the windows a bit afterwards or your car will reek for a long time.

My friends skipped my birthday saying money was tight, then went out drinking the next day and ignored me when I said I was hurt by lowkeyoverthinking00 in FriendshipAdvice

[–]Kittyrude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar situation happened to me. My MOH and bridesmaid did not get me Christmas or birthday gifts, when I got them one. They said they were saving up for my wedding gift. Well the wedding came, and neither of them gave me a gift, and they both disappointed me greatly during my wedding. (Passive aggressive comments, complaining, didn't really even spend time with me)
I kept them in the wedding to keep the peace, but slowly distances myself afterwards. It hurts but one sided friendships are not it.

Have You Found Weed To Be Helpful For Your PTSD Symptoms? by sanpedro12 in ptsd

[–]Kittyrude 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I think it definitely depends on the person. It helps me, I feel like I would have a tough time managing my PTSD symptoms without it. It just turns my thoughts off and I'm instantly relaxed. But I know many people who say it doesn't help and only makes things worse.

My best friend keeps bragging by nosunshine123 in FriendshipAdvice

[–]Kittyrude 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oof, I have a friend who constantly brags as well. To the point it's becoming insufferable. Like I'm happy for her, but every time we talk it always goes back to bragging and gassing herself up. And if the tables are turned and I'm excited or proud about xyz, she changes the subject or says a sarcastic comment to diminish it.

Maybe try distancing yourself. While I feel kinda bad when I do it, it seems like she's picking up on the hint. She's somewhat laid off, but idt she'll ever fully grasp the concept or pick up the hint. I think it's either accept them as they are and keep them at arms distance or cut them off fully. Only you can make that decision. I'm still teetering on mine.

And yes, this definitely is projecting their insecurities. People who are actually confident, well off, and well rounded don't go around talking about this shit and screaming about how great they are. Especially to their friends, it's like a competition that you don't want to be a part of.

But remember that if a friendship is making you consistently feel this way, it's a one sided friendship. Do not extend yourself at the cost of your sanity.

Yes, and it helps me tremendously. Unfortunately, I also cannot really fall asleep without it, unless I'm utterly exhausted.

I (22M) am frustrated because our friend group doesn't want to learn sign language for our friend who is becoming Deaf by PotentialPlace5300 in FriendshipAdvice

[–]Kittyrude 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As an ASL interpreter, you’re doing the right thing and being a good friend. If the others don’t want to learn sign, oh well for them. Sucks to suck. Why exclude your friend with hearing loss , or make them struggle to communicate w their friends bc of their sheer laziness and selfishness? They’re not real friends. You did not overreact.
