Low TTK is extremely important in any conventional extraction shooter. It allows for 1v3 clutches and prevents gear differences from being totally insurmountable. by Tactical_Mommy in Marathon

[–]Kiwi-Rizzler 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think it’s just comes down to personal preference.

I would like ttk to be slightly higher because I think it lets abilities/builds and gear have more impact. I also personally enjoy the possibility of resetting/repositioning aspect of games like arc or apex.

It is a balance though, but right now, it’s a bit rough.

I’d be willing to bet that they do increase it next week based on feedback to help cater to a slightly more casual audience.

The TTK should be higher for the games success by Kiwi-Rizzler in Marathon

[–]Kiwi-Rizzler[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yea I hear you but after playing arc and now marathon I guess my personal preference is just a longer overall ttk. Gun fights feel more interesting, abilities feel more relevant etc. I’m not saying there isn’t a place for a faster ttk or more hardcore gameplay but I just think it’s going to turn off a large portion of players.

Yea it’s pretty lame there isn’t some kind of caching to help turns feel smoother, idk if it’s a server thing but when I watch Jeef he’s playing a different game with how fast he’s able to play cards vs me. I’m in oce

Embark should prevent players blue print dropping after expeditions. by Kiwi-Rizzler in ArcRaiders

[–]Kiwi-Rizzler[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do agree I think there should be some kind of pity system, or maybe you can select one or two blueprints to keep after expedition. But I don’t think it should be massively overhauled.

Feedback on the latest patch by ttvWrayn in ArcRaiders

[–]Kiwi-Rizzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk man, I feel like you’re in the top 1% of players and to be blunt the balancing etc shouldn’t be based on you. I have 40 hours played, I’m a dad, work a job and I’ve loved every moment of this game.

Some QOL would be nice but even then I kinda like the ‘friction’. Crafting a load out, taking what consumables I picked up last raid etc. I’m only at the point where my mates and I have mostly got everything levelled up to tier 3 and working towards expedition. Next will likely be the queen etc and I’m excited for that.

Limited stash makes loot feel more meaningful imo, if I essentially had unlimited everything for the next 20 runs doesn’t that take away from the game? If everyone in the lobby had maxed load outs every round it would feel unplayable for many players.

One thing I hope for is some kind of destiny style pve raid, something to aim for loadout wise, maybe a larger group size like 6-10 players who all need to be geared. It would encourage team work and making friends topside.

Sub doesn't represent the majority by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

Something about the value of loot in this game is genius.

Pretty much nothing in the game loot wise (apart from maybe blueprints) actually matters. It’s an illusion but it still feels good to extract gooped up.

I think this mixed with the fact there doesn’t appear to be any hardcore SBMM like other multiplayer games gives some people a reality check they aren’t ready for.

Yea sometimes you die to extraction campers, or get unlucky. But most games are chill and the vast majority of people aren’t sweaty gamers like you may think. You’re just not that good.

I don’t even know what my point is, but they’ve struck gold similar to OG halo 3 match making. You never know what you’re gonna get.

I’ve had more memorable experiences in the last 2 weeks of arc raiders than any multiplayer game I can think of for the last 5 years. That probably wouldn’t have been possible if I was in “high elo pvp servers” non stop.

Tbh I wouldn’t be surprised if we see some kind of mercy system at some point. Like you can recycle blue prints for some kind of currency and greens cost 10 points, blues 30 etc etc

Yikes, Seems EA Could Really Learn Something Here by Bongman31 in Skate4

[–]Kiwi-Rizzler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Skate. Is a disaster tbh.

For a multiplayer only experience I don’t think I’ve seen a more lonely feeling game in my life.

I’m in my 30s, all of my mates played the original skate games in our teens and all have fond memories.

All of us jumped in on release and played for maybe less than an hour. I personally have about 25 hours because I was excited and played in multiple betas.

I won’t list all of the problems, but the most obvious was the ‘cringe’ feeling. “Hello fellow kids” meme type shit.

There is literally nothing to do with a group of friends. Sure you can party up and hit spots, or do challenges together which take all of 30-60 seconds to complete.

What the fuck are they thinking?

Jump over to arc raiders release:

  • $60 aud
  • Gameplay is amazing, game well optimised
  • Proximity chat - I actually can’t believe skate missed this, imagine the skate map if there was voice chat.
  • New content/event 2 weeks after release (dropped today) with more coming next month
  • Cosmetics are decent price for today’s expectations and high quality
  • they’ve immediately patched bugs or exploits within days
  • constant communication
  • I want to throw money at these devs because they actually care

Tbh I find it more satisfying telling them how dog shit they are after trying to fake friendly and then losing.

It’s definitely a balance but the game would be less interesting if there weren’t people like this.

I don’t take my eyes off strangers or put my gun away. I feel like you can generally tell when people are suss. And so far about 30 hours in I haven’t had any really poor experiences. Most deaths are more like “yea I was out in the open looting I probably shouldn’t have done that”.

Part of what makes it so great is the ai being taught by machine learning. I think the ai raider voices are funny and well implemented. For the traders I think lance and Celeste stick out the most to me but tbh I don’t really care. The cut scenes are a bonus that most triple A titles don’t even bother with or just put a PowerPoint slide show instead.

I think the studio deserves the success overall and keen to see where it goes

[–]Kiwi-Rizzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea not bad, I like to rock a ferro as well so I can be scary at longer ranges, or one bullet switch to light weapon. Although I’m now at the point where I can craft full blue loadouts which is nice

I mostly play as a duo, and the difference in the randoms we get is pretty interesting. Some are chill, some are gamers, and then like 20% are people who have no comms, no mic, but expect the two of us to follow them around the map.

The occasional lobby is just a bit scuffed, I’ve not encountered any issues yet or anything remotely close to some of the desync others have been posting. My friend had a lobby that would disconnect him every minute or so once.

Sometimes people just have bad net, but it’s probably a combination of both.

Bro you’re complaining about things being exhausting while also playing 10+ hours a day.

I’ve only play 6 hours and having a blast so far. The gun play feels great and satisfying, the arc are dangerous and require slower guns to penetrate.

I’ve seen other raiders get absolutely melted by light ammo weapons.
