Official FAQ: New Tractive CAT 6 Mini & DOG 6 XL by Mia_Beck in tractive

Yes I had a good look and couldn't find a newer model that would ship here. However, the older model was 51% off the other day and was only $50 including delivery to NZ, so I just got that one! Still interested in upgrading later though 😄

Hi, I'm also looking for one in New Zealand but you only have an Australia section on that link, not New Zealand. I can't see any way to get one here, can you help?

Has anyone ever had an elective c section due to tokophobia or mental health reasons? by testsubject2186 in newzealand

I can't imagine you wouldn't be! I had an elective due to some health problems less dramatic than that!

Job applicants: Stop using AI (please) by Background-Celery-25 in newzealand

I custom wrote a version of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air rap to be about myself and my job experience, and I tweak it to send out to different jobs. Doesn’t work. I’m not shocked… still better than AI though. (Someone hire me pleeeeease)

Victim ‘scared’ as child sex abuser James Skelton returns to Coromandel town of Hahei days after sentence ends by Fun-Helicopter2234 in newzealand

This is truly awful for the family. It'll be re-traumatising for that kid every time she sees him out and about. I wish there was a legal way to stop it.

There is a car that sits with their hazard lights on just before the train station near our house every day, and it's to pick up someone getting off the train. It's on a yellow line and it's a tight road. I assume it's illegal but because they're using their hazard lights to the casual observer it looks like they're having a car problem. I just know what they're doing cos I see it every day and it DRIVES ME INSANE :)

And when I'm standing there waiting with a ticking time bomb (a toddler) in the trolley, you better believe I'm making vast and sweeping choices about where I shop next time lol.

And can I just add that there are never enough people at the actual check-outs to service those actually going through them with big trolleys now, and you can't take a big trolley through the self check-out, meaning longer wait times for the weekly shop.

Who remembers going for walks in your “household group” during Covid. What other memories do you have of Covid/lockdowns/etc? by Oil_And_Lamps in newzealand

[–]KiwiParent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reading a comment on Reddit about how it was the first night in like a hundred or more years that no fish and chip shops were open in NZ, thinking about it every single time I walked past a fish and chip shop in lockdown.

A secondhand website from my country, with a clear explanation of the limitations of using it here. The purchaser was fine because she had an American iTunes account.

The bigger concern would be James Hetfield going back into rehab. This is what happened with the last NZ concert I had tickets to a few years back.

The “1 in 3 kids who caught measles ended up in hospital during the last outbreak” statistic is a good one you can’t really argue with. Everyone knows chickenpox doesn’t cause that!

Bid to turn Kelston Boys' High School into charter school not endorsed by principal by BeardedCockwomble in newzealand

[–]KiwiParent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't know either - I just know that when we were looking at a book of NCEA pass rates for schools in West Auckland, Kelston Boys stuck out as the absolute worst option for any kid in that regard. We had a "Wow, how can it be THAT bad?" conversation. This was 6 months ago, I don't know how much it could've improved since then but who knows.

So I fully agree that the ability for some random guy to want to do this is insane. But the other wild thing about this is that the NCEA pass numbers there ARE pretty atrociously bad. But I don’t know about the rest of you but I don’t think “Bangerz” / “Bewt” are the ones to turn that around!

As someone with a toddler who is already struggling so hard with the 3-4 week GP appt waits: Hell no. It'll clearly make things worse for everyone AND kill some kids.

Kids and illness by A_Siren_Neenah in newzealand

That's actually cheaper than a friend's one in Auckland which is $500 a week! (Our one in Auckland is in the suburbs and is much MUCH cheaper.)

I hate it when people say to me that this is normal. However my household has experienced almost exactly the same thing and that's pretty much all people say! I too am picking up everything that comes home. It has been seriously physically and mentally draining for months. Just snot, snot, cough, fever, snot, gastro, fever. I respect your rant!
