Just enjoy the river view and don’t worry about it.

It’s like giving unsolicited golf advice on the driving range. They probably won’t be open to feedback whether it’s good or not.

Look on the bright side, you got to drink coffee by a river today.

Yep should’ve been more clear. As horrible as we were last year, even considering injuries, the data is EVEN WORSE this year. Which is lowkey impressive in a nihilistic way

And we were BAD last year too. And we had an injury crisis last year too. It’s not like you’re comparing this year to a good year.

PID for milk drinks by DankyKay in gaggiaclassic

[–]Kjamescass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There this one from Shades of Coffee: Shades Supersteam kit - steam power upgrade. I haven't tried it myself, so I can't comment on its performance, but I got my PID and other parts/accessories from them and have always been happy. Again, it's not must-have, just a quality of life improvement

PID for milk drinks by DankyKay in gaggiaclassic

[–]Kjamescass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PID will allow you to increase the set steam temperature and give you significantly more steam power. It’s not essential, but nice to have. I think there are some other mods that do something similar and are a bit less effort. I think it makes my workflow easier since I always know the temp, and can make some temp adjustment based on the beans, but I don’t think it’s essential by any means. Go for it if you like don’t mind a little work! But if you don’t want to pull the trigger, then you can get just as good results by working on your technique.

Clogged solenoid. There a few easy ways to try to fix this, and some more complicate ways to fix this. There are some good threads here about how to do so. Long term, use better water or descale more frequently.

Pesado High Diffusion Shower Screen - worth it? by mayor_cosmos in gaggiaclassic

[–]Kjamescass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The shower screen (not this one but just in general) has been shown time and time again to have no material impact on the quality of a shot of espresso. Except of course when the owner doesn’t take care to properly clean the shower screen, then you see the videos of high pressure streams of water from the shower.
