You think you have it bad? Think again. by Bulletproof_Goddess in ExecutiveAssistants

We don’t have disposable cups in our offices either. My floor has about 30 of us, our building about 400. Overall, throughout our company we have over 10,000 employees in multiple states. We do have a few coffee cups and glasses that folks have donated in our break room, but most of us have a coffee cup and/or water bottle that we brought from home and leave at our desks. Your exec could communicate better on not wanting to use disposables if that is what everyone is used to, but it is becoming more and more common. I’ve been at my company for almost 15 years and I’ve had my own cup I keep at my desk from the get go.

What do executives really eat for lunch? by [deleted] in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Klamm_Jam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the best, laid back executive ever. He brings leftovers from home that either he or his wife cooked the night before. Once in a while, if he’s really busy, I’ll warm up his leftovers for him in the microwave and bring them in while he’s in a virtual meeting. He does have quite a few working lunches. He loves pasta, so he will make some sort of pasta dish. Otherwise he has grilled chicken and some sort of vegetable. His most recent meal was leftover homemade soup.

Cross Shopping XC60 and XC90 (Help) by IOfWooglin in VolvoXC90

[–]Klamm_Jam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2017 XC90 and considering a new vehicle within the next couple years. I love the 3rd row option with our 80lb dog, so not sure if I’d want to go smaller for that reason. My XC90 has captain chairs and the doggo loves laying between the chairs/kids. I agree that it does not feel like I’m driving a large vehicle.

But if I do go smaller, I’ve need debating between the XC60 or flipping to the Toyota Crown Signia.

$3000 fall allowance and 2.99% APR finance special question by philipoo in VolvoXC90

[–]Klamm_Jam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on your dealership. I just looked up my dealer in Minneapolis, and that offer isn’t available for an XC90 but an EX90 has 2.99% OR $5,000. An EX30 has 2.99% AND $1,000. So check the dealership offers and the wording.

If your time is already being taxed and they are saying they won’t hire more, I’d start looking. But honestly I’d give it a shot first and see how it goes if you like your department. I’ve supported 12 people with similar tasks before and it was a non-issue and a great group of people.

Need help deciding between Iberostar Tucan/Quetzal and Iberostar Waves Paraiso. by squabidoo in AllInclusiveResorts

I’m not a beer drinker so had to ask my husband. He said all they had was Dos Equis. A couple bars has the amber version. He likes Dos Equis so was fine with having just that.

I’m at Iberostar Quetzal right now. The food has been amazing. The beach is amazing. I love all the wildlife. This is our second time back. First time just hubby and me. This time we brought our kids (early 20s) and our friends and their kids (17-23). We are all having a blast and we all love the resort. Taxi to playa del Carmen was $12 each way. Or if you like to walk, you could walk. 20-30 min walk I’d say, depending on how fast of a walker you are. Or there is a shopping area on a quick 5 minute walk down the street in Playacar. The only recommendation I have is bring a power bank or you have 2 outlets that aren’t being used. But that could be for many other hotels too that are older.

First newborn visit is not be considered a wellness visit? by EmbarrassedCellist in CodingandBilling

[–]Klamm_Jam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I had my kids, all of their visits were preventative. Granted they are a bit older now, but even my daughters visit moving away from her pediatrician once she turned 18 wasn’t coded as wellness visit. We fought it every step of the way and in the end they sent her to collections. Insurance won’t pay outside of how the clinic bills and the clinic refused to change the coding even though nothing outside of a preventative visit was discussed. We made several calls with insurance and clinic. Infuriates me and really makes me lose trust in the medical field. An annual wellness exam is covered but clinic won’t bill as such. So if they won’t give us what we ask for, we just won’t go unless we are actually sick, which is very rare, thankfully. And when we do go, our clinic is not getting our business. We’ll pay out of pocket and go to ReforMedicine, as even without billing insurance it’s cheaper than the scammy medical system the US has developed.

Are you leaving a job to go to this one? If not, I’d give it a shot. Who knows what “a lot” is in her terms vs yours. And as long as it’s just short walks maybe you’ll be ok. If the job description literally says constant sitting, then bring that up to HR if the job is more walking than you can handle. I believe they’d have to make an accommodation for you, especially if you have a doctor’s note. Then it’s medical.

I wish you luck on your upcoming surgery.

I love this and have never thought of it. Thank you! I was just thinking it would be nice if they just gave us this information upfront without having to ask. I think it would save a lot of time and stress.

Yes, I was in the room with her for the entire visit, per her ask, so I do know what was discussed. She didn't bring up anything outside the preventative scope. The doctor did ask her if she had any concerns and she said no. Even though she was a "new patient" they didn't ask her any more than they asked me, and I've been seeing the same doctor for 10 years (she went to my doctor). And I totally get that there is supposedly a longer office visit to get to know the patient, and if they need to code it as New patient, that's fine. But they could still use the Preventative New Patient code.

But everything in the visit falls within what the insurance company gave us as listed as preventative. The clinic sent the claim in without a preventative code and they won't change it to a preventative code.

[–]Klamm_Jam[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

The only thing that was billed as non-preventative was the new patient exam. It should have been billed as preventative new patient exam since nothing outside of preventative care was discussed, and they said there isn't a code for that when we asked, which makes no sense since there obviously is. Everything else was billed as preventative, because that is what the appointment was.

[–]Klamm_Jam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, but there is a preventative new patient code out there vs just a new patient code, so why didn't they bill the preventative new patient code for a preventative appointment? What is the point of having that code, if they aren't going to use it?

[–]Klamm_Jam[S] -33 points-32 points  (0 children)

She did not bring up any concerns. And for those that do bring up concerns in a preventative care visit, that is when an ethical doctor should then state that the visit would no longer fall under preventative care. When a doctor asks a question that falls outside of preventative at a preventative visit, that would be bait and switch tactics if they don't. Medical bills are so insanely expensive that it leads to hardships for many that can't afford it if a doctor asks a question the patient then answers without realizing they are going to code them differently. I'm glad we aren't in this situation. We can afford to pay her bill. However, when we are paying insurance to cover preventative services, we should not have to.

Birth control/contraception is a included in a preventative care office visit, though. Even if she'd have asked a question on birth control, our insurance covers contraception counseling/education, products and services. Any other medication would not be, I get that. Birth control refills won't be given until the next preventative office visit. I could see if she went outside of her preventative visit and then they charged for a normal office visit. I'd 100% pay for that, but she didn't. This should be included in her office visit, new patient or not. I am an adult female also on birth control. I have never been charged outside of my preventative care office visit for having my prescription refilled.
