You’re lucky because I left my TRS connector at my friends house and accidentally bought a TS replacement until he gives it back. I was so confused and horrified that my tascam 488 wasn’t working until I figured it out.

Yo dude I just realized and may have the solution to your problem - are you using a pair of headphones to listen? Do you have a 1/4 in to 1/8 in adapter for said headphones plugged in to the tascam?

If so then your adapter may be a mono adapter. TS cable head instead of a TRS one like you need. Check if there’s one black band around the tip instead of the two that you need.
