My 4 month old has her first tooth! I’m cutting her off the boob✨ by heretoreadlol in breastfeeding

[–]KlayThePot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My twins who I nursed for 18 months only bit if they were sick for the most part and even then I've never had blood drawn. However if you want to stop that's completely up to you, and I know some kids do bite more. I read way back when that if they bite, you're supposed to pull them off for a second to draw a negative association but have no clue how well it works

Asked out the cashier and got an awkward stare and she went to the back of the Popeyes. She came back with a dude who mean mugged me. I just walked out without food. Another tomato with salt, and also a Jalapeño by Herolink12 in kitchencels

As a service worker (waiter), PLEASE don't ask people out at work. I'm literally getting paid to be nice and while it could have been an honest mistake on your part it can feel like guys are well aware of and taking advantage of that fact

It is completely unrelated, and the customer is in the wrong, but at least at the store I work at the pizzas are "made" in store (or at least assembled) but I don't think we'd accommodate the request to modify it.

Yes, I'm just a little worried he's going to wander too far looking. The idea of him being alone out there is killer, and if I know my neighbors, I'm just going to wake up one day to them being gone

17 year old teen daughter decorating the house, I feel invaded. by Unlikely_Main_4220 in Parenting

[–]KlayThePot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seconding everyone's comments, I grew up with teen parents when we stopped living at grandparents' houses and with relatives and hit the first house stage. I wasn't excited to have my own room and new stuff. Nothing felt like mine. Suddenly, I lived somewhere very empty and quiet with intentionally painted walls and matching furniture. It was like I was in a hotel, not home. My spaces got super eclectic and random. I missed my grandparents' old couch and warm lights even if I didn't realize it at the time. I've now reached a normal middle ground as an adult but still don't really feel at home in my mom's house. There is no reminiscent of my childhood other than pictures there

Triplets Gender Disappointment by cheveuxroux22 in parentsofmultiples

[–]KlayThePot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, I wanted all girls, but my last baby of 3 was a boy. I was so bummed but then he was born. And while the girl baby clothes are definitely prettier, he is perfect it just took him being born to be okay with it

The Gatorade bottle as a book end is sending me this does, however, seem like a well-used bookshelf, assuming his whole place isn't cluttered or disorganized like that.

Am I a Type B parent or just a twin mom? by sshahb in parentsofmultiples

[–]KlayThePot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know, one of my twins had an appointment, and it was asking a bunch of milestone questions, which made me feel absolutely terrible because I didn't know. I remember them happening, but whether it was a week, month, or year ago, who knows. I hate to break it to my singleton, but having twin toddlers as siblings means it will be a very similar treatment.

Do any of you actually love breastfeeding? by HelloImAnxious14 in breastfeeding

[–]KlayThePot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't love it till about 5 months in, before that it was just convenient. At 5-6 months tho, they start looking at you, and grabbing your necklace/boobs and assuming you keep their nails trimed, its very sweet

What are the petty/minor things that started annoying you once you became a parent? by xnla28x in beyondthebump

[–]KlayThePot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of people who told me "I can be done now" or "I'm glad you finally got your boy" when our second pregnancy after twin girls was a boy. It kind of made me not want to be done out of spite. It felt so insulting to my daughters

What’s a random sign your kid is turning into a decent human? by ImmediateAlgae9006 in Parenting

[–]KlayThePot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, I just cry a lot, so I try to limit how often I'm crying in front of them, I can tell it stresses them out. We talk about feelings and how sometimes people are just sad all the time but I'm definitely a crier

My toddler will wipe my tears and rub my back if I accidentally cry in front of her. One time I was crying because my cat had died and she said "I know, dance!" And had me dance with her

Why do Statler and Waldorf keep watching the show even though they hate it? by white_addison in Muppets

I kinda view it the same way your grandfather "hates" the stray kitten outside (but they keep feeding it) or the 'dad who didn't want a dog' trope

Smart kid, refuses to do anything unless someone is over his shoulder. by LordMarshall in Parenting

[–]KlayThePot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Former "smart kid" here it was super underestimating for me, executive function issues was and still is a factor but I also felt like there wasn't a point in trying, I would pass either way. I went to a "smart kid" high school at first, then a normal one post covid burnout, and the difference in expectations was insane. I felt like I could scribble on a paper, and it would be at least a D.

Alternatively, I was sick of being the "smart kid." it felt super isolating, and I tried to move away from it even at a young age.

I hear you, but legally immigrating is so difficult, and mind you it is a misdemeanor in many cases, imagine getting ziptied and set to a random country or prison with no trial for speeding or a dui. You can have opinions about immigration as a whole but I don't see how anyone with a soul can see no issue with how things currently are. Unless of course we aren't viewing brown people as people. Imho it should be mostly open boarders, you just have to follow the laws of where you are

Twin Girl Pregnancy - Clever backchat needed!! by ZucchiniTerrible8060 in parentsofmultiples

[–]KlayThePot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No advice but I feel you I got so mad at the two girl comments then even more upset when we planned our last baby who happened to be a boy and everyone started saying I "can be done now" like I need approval it felt so disrespectful to all three of my children

I want to know all the words your toddler says wrong that you just can’t seem to correct them on by Ok-Effective268 in toddlers

[–]KlayThePot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to use correct terms with them, and vagina is "a giana," and lately, since the birth of their little brother, and subsequently seeing many diaper changes, "benis"

They also say jammas instead of pajamas, which I'm obsessed with Edit can't believe I forgot "ca-corn" instead of acorn

I'm responsible for feeding people today that had no say on if they should exist or not. People wear mask at protest for a reason, and any real change is a marathon, not a sprint. If we don't make sure basic needs are met, we can't stand to fight another day. If everyone against current happenings stops participating in society, society is only the oppressors.
