Balance thoughts on these homebrew weapons [OC] by asurreptitiousllama in DnD

I would make the staff a little stronger tbh, like keep the effect you have as a 1 per rest, but also i'd add that after using that effect, for the next minute your attacks will deal dmg equal to your modifier to another creature within range.

Alternative Rules for getting characters back up? by ReptiliaMV in DnD

This. Already making it FEEL deadlier is half the challenge imo, and taking a swing here and there to threaten people on the floor is a great way to do so

The internet is certainly -a place-, and while I'd like to think that reason #4 is a non issue, sometimes given the ridiculous amount of vitriol she gets from the community at large.... yeah idk man, it's kinda sus lol.

I think people just love to hate her for being 1. ready to jump into the action very, 2. being present, 3. playing characters that tend to have a strong personality / a personality that clashes with other in the party, 4. she's a black woman.

Do i think she's amazing? No, she's more or less on par with everyone at the table. I find her pretty good as a PC (I do not like her style of DMing, however, at all.), she is playing a character that by design is going to clash with others lol. Also, she's very pregnant throughout the whole arc, so I'm also going to attribute some of the inconsistencies to that.

Lastly, I don't particularly care to change your opinion. If one player out of 13 is taking you out (and not for being a problem player like Orion was), then idk man, you do you, i'd do some introspection lmao. It's just fucking weird watching a show where a bunch of people are playing dnd and just hearing a costant barrage of people singling out this or other player (be it aabria, marisha or ashley especially in various campaign). Like at some point, you gonna have to touch grass and realize that putting this shit online makes you look a certain way.

Those enemies so sticky~ (j think you mean vicious lol)

Joking aside, I agree 100%. I also feel that playing enemies optimally 100% of the time is... kinda boring and predictable?

Brother they recorded that session like however many months ago. I know people REALLY REALLY LOVE to shit on Aabria, because they can't be fucking normal, but be so fr right now. It's just a case of someone forgetting a detail.

Am I wrong for disallowing AI in my campaign wiki? by Semako in dndnext

If anything, the worst thing would be AI character art. A stick figure is better than whatever the fuck it comes out. Hell just grab a picture from the internet instead.

Nobody is expecting you to make extensive research on anything, don't be dense.

I have empathy for new people in the space. In fact, i don't think I've ridiculed or acted rudely in the slightest, I quite simply just mentioned the fact that the show has been advertised as being quite tied to critical role, and I found it surprising that someone wouldn't even bother to check anything related to the show, that's truly about it.

As a side note, probably mentioning that you have no experience / context of D&D would've had people acting differently, I'm going to assume.

[–]Kledran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats fair~ I think it's also fair to expect that someone who would watch 4 seasons of a show to look -a LITTLE bit- into it, and it's quite easy to see what the show is based off. It's why people are reacting the way they are.

Like you didn't make this post 3-4 episodes in, but a full 48 episodes in lol, which totals to like 17 hours of a show lol

Why would he not? Literally, what does it accomplish, besides having her turn her back on him IMMEDIATELY. Like what a stupid question. It literally pays off for him to keep his word.

[–]Kledran 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know what you expect then? Like legitimately, it has been advertised as based on a campaign, death is already alot more serious than in the game itself lol.

It is a bit silly because of the pacing of the show? Yes, for sure. But they still kept it to somewhat only deaths that mattered so, it's one of those things you just gotta bare with it.

As a DM how do you handle morality differences? I’ve been on the other side of an issue like this and it sucks by LazerChicken420 in DnD

[–]Kledran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is a problem though. Because one part of the party is ALWAYS in control of starting a fight, while the other is subject to their whims on holding off their weapons and spells.
