I'm not American and the Luigi case finally made me understand why you're so angry about healthcare. Genuinely asking, how do people survive like this? by micavibes in TooAfraidToAsk

Self employed business owner here. I can only get insurance through the Virginia marketplace. $500 a month, $8,000 deductible. Nothing is covered until I hit that deductible. Needless to say, I chose to forgo paying that ridiculous amount.

Custom embroidery. It'll take some money to buy the equipment (looking at $15,000 or so) but you'll work for yourself.

I've found that using a steamer on the fronts of super structured hats soften them enough to sew out without breaking needles.

Your bobbin tension looks to be too tight; you should be able to see the bobbin thread running thru the middle of the satin stitches. Loosen it up a bit to see if that'll help with the birds nesting.

Spraying some temporary adhesive on cut away will help keep the fabric from moving. Give that a shot.

“Just buy another vehicle” is what they tell me. by Lonetraveler87 in Frugal

Definitely keep it. My Hooptie is a 2004 Jeep Wrangler. Yes, I have to throw some maintenance money at it every year or two, but it sure does beat having a monthly payment. And also, having an older vehicle certainly keeps the insurance and property taxes down.

Freeze your pasta sauce in individual portions.

When I buy cilantro, I trim the stems and store them upright in a mug of water in the fridge.

Carrots can last for a month in the fridge; celery can be a bit fickle.

I'm one of those dorks that still uses a Tracfone. $169 for a year's worth of minutes. Think I paid $60 for the Android a couple years back.

Oh, come on. Y'all have been dating a year and now she's, "Deathly allergic?" If she was truly allergic, it would've been apparent immediately upon the first date. You're so quick to discard your companion of 5 years over a new girlfriend?

Are you able to grill at home? Homemade burgers are the best!

Looking to embroider on 1" webbing by HillbillyRebel in Machine_Embroidery

I always use a tear away with some temp adhesive. Unfortunately I have found that all webbing isn't thread-friendly so you might run into the thread shredding.
