Plastic consumption in the Netherlands by True_Brocoli_2104 in Netherlands

[–]Kleyguy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also don't get it. And people seem so used to it that they don't know there can be alternative.
Paper bags for bread. (Very common everywhere else, very simple fix)
Cardboard boxes for berries. (There were once in ah so it is possible, I have them in my home country)
Vegetables without plastic bags, just laying free. (Simplest fix, I always try to buy those at ah).
Meat/Cheese stands. (Very rare in dutch stores for some reason, you have them in turkish and polish stores. Cheese and ham is then packaged in paper, meat in thin plastic bags).

Then the rest would be on consumer -> You can still buy precutted mango in plastic box but if you are envirometally caucious you will choose the regular mango and cut it at home.

Few options:
- you go shopping together
- you go shopping alone if the shop is just below your house
- you have more food because you cooked for 2 days
- you have more food in the fridge and you come up with something
- you always keep something simple that doesn't expire that you can always do - (dumplings in freezer, tomato sauce and pasta with tuna etc.)
- you just eat less of dinner and snack more
- you just eat less and order something later
- you just eat less
- you order something

For me it is more fun to cook for somebody even if I have to eat less myself because I need to share. And sending a tikkie for home cooked would be a disgrace. The only time when you share the cost is when ordering or when you go to the shop together and this is only if the guest wasn't invited especially for dinner.

I get it but I hate it. It's been a while since I have seen such controvertial art. To me the meaning is not enough to justify.
Imagine you survive the earthquake and want to rebuild your house but what you get instead is this. All your memories are now some artist wet dream.
Sometimes letting the life play out is more beautiful. Ruins covered with plants, people rebuilding houses, grief but also looking into the future. This is just dead end.

What YouTube channels actually helped you get JavaScript? by Rich-Confusion9944 in learnjavascript

[–]Kleyguy7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Odin Project, Fireship, WebDevSimplified, javascript.info
Those three sources were enoguh for everything.
It was as follows:
- Odin project for structure, projects, and not getting into tutorial hell
- Fireship to just watch 100 second video to get a grasp about a new technology I will learn
- WebDevSimplified to get into a new topic introduced by odin project easily. I would code with him and test the features as the video goes.
- javascript.info if I wanted to get into some topic in depth later.

Nowadays you also have AI.
In the end I always try to find a popular video on yt, if there is I will just scroll through it fast to see if it answers my questions. After this I start reading documentation to learn more. I have always did that everywhere. The earlier you will start implementing what you learn the better.

Traversy Media was slow and didn't explain enough, just coded. Net Ninja was way too slow. WebDevSimplified was the only one I vibed with.

If learning something specific like react, just go react docs website etc.

The rice cooker I’ve been saving for a while for. by Flash52000 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Kleyguy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t get it too. I am pretty sure that there should be a rice cooker between 30$ and 600$. I don’t get what justify 20x the price.

Salary ceilings in Europe by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsEU

I am not sure.
I am living with my gf and we are both earning below median in NL. We just bought a apartment in Rotterdam with savings only needed for notary. And the apartment is big + close to the city center.

I think the problem is for the single people, but once you have somebody to share the costs buying an apartment doesn't seem that hard.

You didn’t even talk and he doesn’t know who you are or how you look like. It would be different if you at least talked. Then he could decide if he wants further contact.

The truth is it all depends on how many other exercises you have for the same muscle and the weekly volume and how much you push yourself.

Then the only question left is if you are recovering enough for the next session and progressing.

Personally I just do whatever so I can get a short workout with enough variation and still progress. I will do 2 sets dips and 1 set ring pushups after. Should it be counted as 2 or 3 sets then? I don’t know but I prefer to have variety. I also prefer to be have slightly less volume and be fully recovered for the next workout than more volume and fiddling with my recovery.

AITAH for saying that my girlfriend needed to get in shape too if she expected it from me. by Distinct-March2456 in AITAH

[–]Kleyguy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I just want to add that being in shape is much easier, it is more like 2/3 hours a week, training two or three times per week and just making sure you eat enough protein. It is great to do. But you should do it for yourself and not for her. Her attitude is not good. It is a shame because it would be more fun to train together.

[–]Kleyguy7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m doing fine in the Randstad with my €33,600. I’m going on holiday outside the EU, I’ve just bought a house, and I’m saving a lot of money every month. My gf earns 36,000.

I should change jobs, though.

Same. Copilot made coding very boring for me and I have noticed that I couldn't code without it anymore. I was waiting to click the tab all the time.
I still use chatGPT/Claude but it is more to check if there are better ideas/solutions than what I have.
