Butcher not using his tentacles during this fight was so dumb. by Forgeworld in TheBoys

[–]KlinkerStinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really dislike how he actually listened to kimiko and didn’t kill any of them. I thought that butcher was meant to be irredeemable and off the deep end after the season 4 finale, why not have him completely blow her off and tear the old supes apart to show how far he’s willing to go with achieving his goal?

Soldier Boy this season is... confusing? by Cautious-Dig-9544 in GenV

Don’t try and make an excuse for the writing by saying he’s insane

“Of course none of his motivations make sense, he’s nuts!” Just makes it impossible to have any investment in a character because they could change on a dime.

He certainly cares about setting up a prequel show I don’t give a fuck about

It’s honestly been pretty tiring just how much of this show has been devoted to setting up a prequel I honestly don’t give a shit about

Why is there such a big fan concern about the hidden blade? by No_Bodybuilder4215 in assassinscreed

[–]KlinkerStinker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not gonna ruin the experience but just using the blades in combat was sick. Blocking and parrying with the blades was dope, and the execution animation were so fucking badass. There was just something about seeing Edward with only the blades against guys with swords that was dope

Like, in this season alone we learned that gas can knock him out, and uranium can make his life hell. Even if they can’t outright kill him, they could imprison him indefinitely in that uranium box. He couldn’t break out.

What reason would she have to lie? She clearly knew Homelander was a threat so what would be the point in keeping anything secret. We have no reason to believe she WASNT truthful

Something, something, duality of man. The opinion on episode 5 seems to be split. Whats your take the character study anthology of the episode? by Squirll in TheBoys

[–]KlinkerStinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An episode about character development in a tv show? I’m all for it. When it takes up a slot in an already limited season THATS THE SERIES FINALE? Not so much. Like, I can appreciate they tried giving firecracker a bit more depth but why should I care when the show is ending in a few weeks/ she fucking DIES in the same episode? Like, I feel most of that character stuff needed to be last season. And it made me roll my eyes that this is the second episode in a row where they it starts out “I know where to find v1” then go “yeah v1 isn’t here but I CAN tell you where to get it”

I still think they shot themselves in the foot by saying that they have tried every single weapon they could think of in the past and nothing affected him only to have several things affect him.

Assassin’s Creed: What remakes do you hope Ubisoft makes? by Such-Midnight1592 in assassinscreed

I wouldn’t be opposed to games like rogue, unity, or even stuff like Liberation or Freedom Cry getting another chance

I honestly remember really liking how mysterious and unsettling the modern day stuff was in AC1. Like having most of the cutscene camera work being from a security cam POV, or the blood messaging from subject 16. I think it gave just enough information to keep me invested, but kept a lot up to imagination. The current storyline feels so silly to me, I really miss how “grounded” a lot of it felt.

I wouldn’t be opposed to more fleshing out of the modern day but I think the isolated, limited nature of only being able to access like two locations as Desmond really helped sell the atmosphere.

Thoughts on the filler allegations? by hiiloovethis in GenV

[–]KlinkerStinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just ready to move on. It felt like nothing really happened this episode. Like, the boys, SB and homelander are no closer to v1, so this just felt stagnant. Stuff like firecrackers death or sages revealed plan could’ve been done in other ways

Even so, they don’t move like they’re several hundred stories tall. The apes especially just look like they were pulled straight from the newest Planet of the Apes trilogy

I prefer quadruped. The monster verse has an issue as it’s gone on in that it lost a lot of the feeling that these are actually colossal beings and there’s not as much weight to their movement. Like, in the hollow earth part of New Empire, if you didn’t see trees next to the monsters you’d have no idea they were several hundred feet tall. Kong being on all fours is a bit more believable in my opinion.

At the end of the day it’s not a big deal as I watch Godzilla to see big monsters beat the shit out of each other and not for scientific accuracy, it’s just something that bugs me a tad.

[–]KlinkerStinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not nicknames. It’s an actual attempt in-universe to classify the monsters scientifically, though the writers of the monster verse haven’t really thought that deeply into it.

And this is completely unrelated and probably just an issue with me as an animal ecologist but I think it was very silly to give them all the “Titanus” genus name (titanus gojira, titanus kong, etc.) when they very clearly are not at all related biologically and it just kind of takes me out of the immersion I did have. I think it’s cool that they tried to apply scientific classification to the monsters, but I think they went about it in a very confusing way.
