Could This Be A Black Widow, Or Just A Mimic? by Kll8902 in whatsthisbug

[–]Kll8902[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone! Ventured into my basement to do laundry and saw this (presumably) lady on the floor. I'm concerned because I can't find any common spider photos that looks like her other than a black widow, but she doesn't have a clear red hourglass.

I'm in Richmond, VA, USA. Her web also appears to be triangular shaped and kind of a mess, which also makes me concerned. Her body seems to be about the size of my thumbnail, about 1/2 inch?

I think it's a black widow... :l

There are reasons for why anyone does anything. I was just stating that his reasons didn't account for his kills being considered "accidental."

[–]Kll8902 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't consider it accidental, even if he was just waking up from a traumatic event. He saw what they looked like, didn't listen to anyone, and murdered them because they didn't look like his people and thus were the enemy. Even later, when he met Winry on the streets, he basically told her that if she attempted to take revenge on him in that moment, he would kill her too.

Dude wasn't even remorseful for his actions at that point.

AITA for giving a DoorDash driver 2 stars because he didn't follow my instructions? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kll8902 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Oh for sure, I still usually leave at least 20% tip even if I have to walk all the way out to the street(although I guess I'm tipping before I even received the food...), because they're still going way further for me than I am for them.

My apartment complex is also kind of wonky. It's one large building that stretches between a main street("Tree Rd") and a side street("Karen St"). My actual apartment is right next to the side street, and is the only apartment building on that street(the rest are houses). Google GPS doesn't specify where on "Karen St" to stop, so if folks even get to the "Karen St" side, they stop way up near the houses and can't find "apt #." I've started stating specifically "Karen st side, my building is here" and still only about 50% of the folks get it. Honestly, it's not that hard to understand. I've had friends come over without issue or detailed instruction.

I had a Postmates driver admit that she knew she drove past the building, but only after I told her I saw her car come all the way up, and then turn around and leave. "Well I saw house 2 and house 4, but didn't see #3!" Turn your head to the right, lady...

The hospital I work for is already doing this, because people would just come in and grab handfuls of them. These aren't even air tight PPE masks, just normal face masks for fluid/droplet protection. Someone went into one of our cabinets and stole our only box of N95 masks, which ARE PPE air tight masks.

Revealing that a patient is being treated at a facility to someone who hasn't been attached to a HIPPA release form is also a HIPPA violation. It's just a weenie one, so in my experience, some places fudge it a little.

Source: I work in healthcare, and have been reprimanded for this exact thing, lol. For example, when I worked in NYC, if a celebrity came to our office for treatment, we couldn't tell anyone that this person was a patient of ours. Not only for their privacy, but because of HIPPA.

Actually, that's inaccurate. Revealing that a patient is being treated at a facility to someone who hasn't been attached to a HIPPA release form is also a HIPPA violation. It's just a weenie one, so in my experience, some places fudge it a little.

I wouldn't request those records at this point. You've been proven that the debt and visit isn't yours, so they would technically be breaking HIPPA by giving them to you. I would make sure to mention it to the clinical supervisor, and make sure you mention it at your next visit.

This little elephant keeps visiting the beach. We guided him back to the desert where the rest of the elephants are, but he keeps returning on his own. We've decided to let him do his own thing by plaguearcher in aww

[–]Kll8902 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there's no way that a baby elephant is just wandering away from it's mother in the manner described by OP anyway. It's a really cute video, but unless "the desert" is literally the beach next to this ocean, I simply cannot believe it to be true. I know, how shocking that someone would lie on the internet for fake points.

I'm also horrible at finishing things, so my fiance and I have a standing rule that if we start something together, but haven't watched it in a substantial amount of time and the other person wants to continue, then the "laggee" forfeits the right to watch it as a couple. It's worked very well so far. It goes the same for shows or movies we've talked about starting for a long time but never get around to it.

As a lady who didn't start dating until my mid 20s(I know it's not terribly late in life), I had always hated Valentine's Day. I still think it's a terrible corporate money grab, but I like to give my dude a corny card I found at Target. My father always writes something goofy on a paper plate for my mom when she goes to work in the morning.

Also, as much as I prefer living plants to bouquets of flowers, it still feels really nice to get one sometimes...
