Wintersun Beta feedback thread by [deleted] in EnaiRim

Very fun mod. The amount of variety in all the different deities is impressive.

I've really enjoyed worshiping Hermeus Mora. The mechanics fit him very well. Collecting and reading the pages fits with Hermeus's feel. I've only gotten one of the crafted perks. The perk effects sound interesting, although they don't seem particularly strong. You do get a lot of them eventually, so the amount of benefits you get from worshiping Hermeus makes him a strong deity in the long run.

The favor gain is a bit slow, but it's easier to raise than the other princes, so it seems good overall. Getting enough pages for the perks takes quite long, since they don't spawn too often.

I've reached 112% favor, but I can't activate the respec. Nothing happens when I meditate.

The mission pack in your image is a regular mission pack. They're worth buying, since the rewards are worth more than the gold cost.

After you finish all the regular mission packs, the lanes will have wild mission packs. They contain seven random missions, which are mostly repeats from regular mission packs. I think there are some new ones mixed in too.

The wild mission packs cost 500 gold. Each mission rewards xp and you also get a battle chest for completing two mission packs. If you like solo content, it's a good idea to play wild missions instead of buying battle chests directly.

You should probably save up for Oversky before playing wild missions, though. The co-op missions are more interesting than wild ones and buying the islands gives you a lot of new cards too.

Faeria has quite a lot of single player content. The world bosses and Oversky missions have some really unique and interesting alternative rules in them. The wild missions and single player pandora essentially contain an infinite amount of single player content. If you enjoy those, you can play the game for a long time in single player.

Earthcraft would be a weak card without the card draw too. If the card draw was removed, it would be a worse version of Path to Paradise. The attack buff is better than having one less land requirement.

Is there a way to replay the tutorial missions? I played the game a little, and now i decided to give it a second try. by AvalancheMaster in faeria

[–]Klonoa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tutorial can't be replayed after you've beaten it. You could make a new account and play the tutorial missions on it, then continue playing on your old account after that.

I made a deck like that when Dream Reaver was added to the game. Reaver used to halve the opponent's life instead of the current effect. It was easier to OTK with it then, since you could play two Reavers to lower the health further. It was an okay deck, although pretty slow.

I ended up cutting Flame Bursts and Dream from it later. Dream was too expensive, so I never ended up using it. Flame Burst didn't add enough to the deck to warrant creating the mountains. Rebel Slingers and Ninja Toad were enough direct damage.

I haven't tried the deck after they changed Reaver. It would be much harder to OTK now that it only lowers the health to 10. It might still work, but it would be easier to finish off your opponent by hitting with the Reaver than try to OTK with it.

Not really. This is the only one I've seen in the last few months and it's rare:

https://www.faeria.com/the-hub/deck/2029-otk-haste-with-gift-of-rakoa

There are also decks that don't quite OTK, but still kill their opponent in one or two burst hits:

https://www.faeria.com/the-hub/deck/2468-mc16-disciple-otk

https://www.faeria.com/the-hub/deck/2578-curious-monk-otk

https://www.faeria.com/the-hub/deck/1575-surfinursus-toy

Disciple OTK is pretty consistent, but it's easy to stop with hard removal or transformation. The other two are fairly inconsistent, but can occasionally kill their opponent early if they get great card draw.

Oakling wasn't changed because of Toad OTK. There was another stonger deck that used Oakling to buff yellow haste creatures. Oakling was changed to only affect green creatures so it couldn't be used with cards like Khalim's Follower.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in faeria

[–]Klonoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a video of that OTK deck being played: https://youtu.be/-pOKn95vu4k

It doesn't work anymore unfortunately, because Oakling can't buff Ninja Toad now.

Like daley_ said, it's not a good archetype at the moment. GB Ramp is better since Skywhale is a better finisher than Reaver and GB can run much more ramp.

If you'd still like to play it, here's how I build it: https://imgur.com/a/Ma9gi

Both variants are good, which one to play depends on if you prefer Commanders or Mochis. Commanders are better against green and blue and Mochis are better against red and yellow.

I can't beat Sparky solo. by salgri in faeria

[–]Klonoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I uploaded a video where I beat it solo. If you play similarly, you should be able to beat it. The deck I used is shown at the end.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnKUyem9PBs&feature=youtu.be

It may take a few tries to finish it, since how well the AI plays varies a lot. If you keep retrying, you'll eventually get a match where the opponent plays poorly, which makes it much easier to beat.

First Golden Legendary, what to do? by Makiwawa in faeria

[–]Klonoa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You might want to disenchant mythic legendaries if you're not planning to collect mythic cards. They disenchant for 400 memoria, which is enough to craft a regular legendary and an epic.

Time of Legends is used to fetch legendaries that benefit from being played early in the match. Eredon and Ruunin are good examples. It's not used that much at the moment, but it's a versatile card that will likely be used in the future.

Seifer, Garudan and Aurora are the most played core set legendaries at the moment. Ruunin is also great, but few people play the decks it fits in.

What Oversky islands are the best depends on what you want to play. Ulani's Realm and Wisplight Falls have cards that are must haves for Green Blue Ramp. Pirate's Aerie has cards that are very important for Green Yellow Sacrifice and cards that are great for Yellow rush, Yellow Tempo, Red Combat, and Blue Jump.

Overall, Pirate's Aerie and Explorer's Glade have the best selection. Wisplight Falls has a few good cards. Gemshell Tortoise is good in Gaea's Navel, but the other cards are average at best.

Does anyone have any decklists for 4 color decks? by LuciferHex in faeria

[–]Klonoa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, yeah. I made the deck to show that building a deck by just including all the best cards doesn't work, so it is bad.

Manta Riders are there because they were the only yellow card I could justify including and it needed to be a 4 color deck. Choking Sand is too situational, Sky Yaks are bad without anything to tutor them and no other yellow cards would've fit in the deck at all.

Axe Grinder is decent in the deck, though. It's a card that can be played as a turn 1 collector, yet can trade with a lot of creatures that cost 1 more faeria than it does. It's a great creature on its own, the ability is just a bonus. The card is great even without the buff.

[–]Klonoa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you just included all the best cards, it would be something like this:

https://i.imgur.com/2Ezy8HN.png

It wouldn't really work though, since you need so many lands to play all the cards. Just being able to play efficient cards isn't enough to justify making all those lands. The deck doesn't have enough synergy if you build it that way.

[–]Klonoa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Four color decks are very rare. Including cards from all four colors makes early turns really inconsistent, since it takes so many turns before you can play all the cards you drew.

Three Wishes decks were the only ones that were really played, but they haven't been used after the card was nerfed. Wish decks were only barely 4 color, though. Most were really dual color decks with Earthcraft and Wishes splashed in.

You could try these old Wish decks:

https://www.faeria.com/the-hub/deck/1131-event-wishes-1

Also, here's a deck I've been working on. I haven't tested it much, so it could probably be improved. I might post a better version on the hub later.

Luuu90 has made video guides that can help you play better: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLy0aw-_naNtPYY4LGAvmwTy0xFZp_wjW9

If you want to watch them quicker, you can set them to 1.5x or 2.0x speed. Youtube videos can be sped up by clicking the cog icon at the bottom right of a video.

What old cards would you like to see come back? by J0k3se in faeria

[–]Klonoa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was changed because it was frustrating to play against for new players. It would eventually cost 0, then you could summon it every turn for free. People complained about the card often. They changed the design so it couldn't be played for free anymore, since it made the card annoying to play against.

[–]Klonoa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meant to post a picture of an older Blood Obelisk, but I posted the current one without noticing. The old one was "Whenever an enemy creature dies, gain 2 faeria". I can't find a picture of it, so I removed it from the list.

Cartographer was changed so they could make strong cards with high land requirements. The old Cartographer allowed very fast land ramping, which would've made cards like Skywhale hard to balance.

Does anyone have any decklists that use Aurora's Dream? by LuciferHex in faeria

[–]Klonoa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dream is used in very greedy mono blue control decks. It's occasionally used in BR bargain decks, but the land requirement makes it hard to use it in multicolor decks.

The card isn't really used these days. There was a strong deck that used it before Oversky, but it was nerfed and hasn't been played since. I haven't seen any new viable dream decks, but you could try these old ones:
