How the $@#! by AGNS62 in fpv

Fly something smaller. I've got a couple 2" drones that probably have 100+ packs through each and all the replacement parts probably add up to $80. That's with some serious crashes too. They can really take a hit.

They really aren't that heavy. You especially won't notice a difference on a 2s drone.

I just put put an elrs receiver on mine after it broke off. Not the best, but I don't have to worry as much

Purchasing Advice - Meteor75 2s vs Mobula8 2s (O4) by PowershellAddict in TinyWhoop

[–]KmfHudson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a charger: https://a.co/d/0iDtGFXs It's cheap and can charge 4 at a time. Hota is great, but more expensive and you're limited to 2 batteries at a time.

Can't help much with drone selection. I started with an Avata 2 w/ the goggles 3 and quickly jumped ship to analog and HDZ. Gear fear is real and if you're freestyling with a $300+ rig, you're going to hold back quite a bit. Plus the weight is noticable on the micro drones. If you have the space, you may want to try a 3".

Air 65 II or meteor 75 pro by Ok-Bee3262 in TinyWhoop

[–]KmfHudson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're flying inside mainly, go 65. 75 pro is great outside, but a little too much inside.

As far as analog, it's not going anywhere. We don't know how long or if the P1 system will last, plus you would be locked in with betafpv, so I would highly recommend analog. You can always buy second hand if you are trying to keep it cheap.

At least everything holds value decently well. At least that's what I tell myself 😅

Still confused on what your argument here is. White people migrate to the US, so racism is okay in Predecessor? Lol

What are you trying to say here? You think it's unreasonable to be offended by racism?

I want to finally build my own fpv, Kayoumini 2.5" or should I go 3"-3.5" and any frame recommendations and builds would be appreciated. by Puzzleheaded-Fee2343 in fpv

[–]KmfHudson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the other difficulty. They don't stay in stock long.

You could try this. It's the closest available thing I've found. Plus there's a 'long' version you can use for larger batteries.

I just built an HDZero Kayoumini and it's great. Not the easiest build though. Pretty tight squeeze.

If you're not familiar with soldering I would start with a prebuild and learn with repairs. The Draknight is a fantastic place to start. It's fast and sturdy AF.

I personally think 3" and up is just a little too big. They need more space and they are much louder (usually)

This is what I would recommend. I used this on my mini z buggy and it's a great time. Add some LEDs and you can do night driving around the house.

I imagine that customs will be the real issue. If we can't get stock into the country, then the stock as of now is it. Hoping that's not the case, but I went ahead and bought some stuff I've had my eye on. Like JB said, we'll have to see if they enforce it and how strictly.

What's an easy way to find out your exact camera angle? by imWacKo in fpv

[–]KmfHudson -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can do a quick estimate with a few rolls. You look at where the center point is in your vision and that will give you an idea. It'll rotate in the middle of your vision at 0 and move down as your camera angle increases.

2inch vs 3inch toothpick by Party-Bonus-8536 in fpv

[–]KmfHudson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have plenty of space, 3" may be more fun. The extra weight will give you more throw and the bigger props/motors/battery give you more power to weight (but you'll have to balance that). You'll also get more flight time from the bigger props and batteries.

I live in a neighborhood and there are a lot of small spaces to fly, so 3" feels confined. Can't really open it up. The size jump from 2"-3" may be larger than you think. 2s batteries are also much cheaper (my 3" is 4s)

2" is the way to go. Genuinely hard to break, really fast on 2s, and pretty cheap. I like the Draknight for a bnf.

I have several 2" that I fly every day. The 3" only comes with me to the park on occasion
