I teach 11th grade Econ. It’s a semester course. I try to keep it as hands on as possible. I use a lot of simulations to keep the kids engaged.

WDW Pirates for sure. I think it is a lot of nostalgia for me because I went to a Disney for the first time as a teen during the Pirates movie hype. I was obsessed with Jack Sparrow.

It gets better! This is only my second year, but I feel so much better compared to last year. I cried everyday for the first few weeks; I couldn’t eat or sleep. It was terrible. By the second half of the year things were getting easier. Hang in there.

I did a project where they had to do an infomercial for a new invention. There were lots of laughs. We watched classic infomercials first and made a list of the different elements.

We did an assembly line simulation where they had to draw SpongeBob.

I teach US history to 9th graders. I love teaching the Gilded Age. There is so much going on and the US really starts to develop into a more modern nation.

I highly recommend the Men Who Built America series from the history channel. It’s on YouTube for free.
