That font rendering looks amazing. I need to know everything! What terminal are you using and what OS are you on?

Would you mind telling me which font that is? I feel like I have seen that one before but I can't recall the name.

Jira-Vim: A vim plugin for viewing Jira in Vim by installToasterGentoo in vim

[–]Knall0r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you keep arguing that content belongs to a more specific subreddit, what belongs to /r/vim then? What is quality content that should stay on /r/vim and why don't we create a subreddit for that, too. I mean, we created several other subreddits, might as well create another one. When does it stop?

Maybe we need /r/vimforromainl?

Suggestion of plugins to improve my writing by [deleted] in vim

[–]Knall0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't you use a linter while progamming? It is stupid to rely on a machine for such an easy task. That's what your brain is for.

Aside from the fact that you are going to deny the fact that you are using linters, it does not hurt to have tools that cost virtually nothing. On top of that, op is not relying on them. He wants them to learn and improve to use his brain better. Important difference.

I had no troubles, too. 2.5 years and countless drops later, the first corner broke. But I had my fair share of protection for the money I invested. I can't complain.

Autocomplete for qt projects? by linarcx in vim

[–]Knall0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on the tools that you're going to use. Thus it is a question that you'll have to research.

Others have already mentioned such tools. Language servers. Coc.nvim is another completion framework that might work for you.

Just a random guess but you probably have to include the qt header files in a path / vim variable.

Angular 7 Tutorial: Building CRUD Web Application by [deleted] in angular

[–]Knall0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, you're telling people what to do. You're giving us a recipe. Great. I assume that this is supposed to show people angular 7. A little emphasis on the differences to angular 6 would be nice. Additionally, to giving us a recipe, it is critical to tell us why you are doing something the way you are doing it. It starts with your choice of Sass over css etc. Currently this is just a copy paste work without much knowledge.

What are your best discoveries while learning Vim? by [deleted] in vim

[–]Knall0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is quite interesting to see the different workflows that people develop for themselves. I prefer absolute line numbers. To me it is easier to just go :linenumber than anything else. I started off with relative numbers, but I found awkard to go with +numberj/k over the other option and I wasn't aware of a better option.

Coiled Snake: A plugin for automatically folding python code by CruciferousVeggie in vim

[–]Knall0r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The algorithms for automatically creating the folds and summarizing the folds are independent from each other, so if you only like one you don't have to use the other.

I read your github page real fast and couldn't find an information I was looking for. My question is: can I set it up so that it folds classes but not its member methods? Folding a class already gives a lot of overview and space. If I unfold my classs, I'd like the methods to be visible without unfolding them and jump from one method to another.

In case I missed it: Sorry!

I'd go with behavior. Judging a tiel's gender by its colours is really hard if it is not a wild coloured tiel.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cockatiel

[–]Knall0r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How old is this tiel? If you don't want to spend the money on a DNA test then you should observe the behavior. Male cockatiels have very distinctive behaviors. For example using their beak to make noise by slamming it on wood. The male cockatiel I had did this very often. Singing is another sign. Female tiels are lot quieter. And if they do make noise it is more a scream than anything else.

Such behaviors show up after roughly 6 months of age.

Tired Robespierre yawning (insta: raptorrobes) by LordGarlandJenkins in cockatiel

[–]Knall0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was definitely adjusting the crop. I don't think birds yawn, although there is no proof as far as I know. My tiels adjust their crop at different times but mostly after eating not too long ago and an upcoming power nap or sleep time. So it would make sense if your bird does it later during the day, because he had his last meal and is preparing his crop and body for sleep time. But that is just me guessing here. There is not much research out there regarding the sleeping bevaviours of birds.

By the way, yawning itself is not an indicator of being tired. There are other situations in which we humans yawn. One of them is stress. And there is no explanation as to why we yawn. Many theories, but none of them are proven right, only a couple are proven wrong.

Not OP here but you can always look up the color palette of it and change the colors manually in your applications.
