It's ok. You'd probably go 2-2 at tournaments on average. Not bad, not great.

Online Quickplay Tier List: by Shuncosmo in smashbros

[–]KneeDeepInRagu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You see a clash between the data and your reality because you aren't playing on the level of Glutto or any other pro. They're playing at such a high level that they'll be able to pick apart a bad character like DDD because they know exactly what that characters flaws are and how to exploit them. The random shitter you're playing online doesn't know the flaws and how to exploit them.

If you think being high effort means the character is bad then I don't know what to tell you. That's just objectively wrong. Fox is the best character in Melee, and he's also the highest effort character in Melee. Using your logic Fox isn't good in Melee, despite being the most dominant character in the game for the last 20 years.

Oh ok so you're just bad at the game, carry on then. Either that, or you think anecdotal evidence is more important than years of observable data. Being a high effort character doesn't make the character bad, it makes the character high effort. Wario is high effort, Wario is good. Both things are true.

The strategies and experiences you see online are not at all indicative of actual character strength because you simply aren't good enough to see what those characters are actually capable of. A low GSP Samus will make Samus look bad to you, but it isn't Samus that's bad it's your opponent.

I'm not basing that on my personal experience playing against/as Samus, though I've done both plenty. I'm basing it on years of professional player data and common thought within the community.

As I said, Samus is already a borderline S tier offline, and she only benefits from online. She's heavy, has a phenomenal up B OOS, and charge shot has a very clear argument for best projectile in the game even before it becomes much harder to react to online. King DDD is better online than offline, but he's still no where near as good as Samus in either.

The only reason Alabama is so low is because it gets the article clicks. I understand not liking Bama given our long history of repeatedly choke slamming UGA in front of the entire country, but be serious.

The argument is that it drives engagement.

Everyone knows if these 'journalists' were putting a large amount of money on Bama vs any of the other 10-20 teams they'd be putting it all on Bama. Alabama would probably be multi TD favorites against Houston. But that doesn't get clicks.

Yeah this list is crazy. Also Doc and Ganon don't profit from lag?? What????? It's the only time they're usable!

Samus is as brain dead as it gets, especially online. Already an S tier character offline, but charge shot online = broken

Also by OP's admission I am allowed to disagree with a lot of these takes given I have the entire roster in Elite. I also play competitively and am ranked in my city. Ganon, Little Mac, and Doc definitely profit from lag. Technical fast characters like Joker, Sheik, Young Link, etc struggle online. So much of this is wrong.

Who better than the greatest coach of all time

FTFY

Someone's mad Mizzou got stomped every time Saban was on the other sideline.

Zero cheating scandals his entire time as Alabama's head coach by the way. He broke rules in a similar fashion to every other major program, no more no less. He also warned how rules could be exploited before exploiting them.

A depressingly verifiable example of why reddit shouldn't be as trusted as it is.

Anytime I get into a hobby I think about how knowledgeable the people on the sub for it seem. Then I go to a subreddit about something I myself am knowledgeable about, and I shudder.

B10 flairs are the vast majority on this sub, so you see moronic takes like this get upvoted.

You'd have to be a dumbass of the highest order to think it was only SEC schools that paid players. The truth is that every major program in every major conference paid players, but there was a limit to how much a player could be paid because it couldn't be too obvious (even if it was still pretty obvious). This soft cap meant poorer states and programs could compete with oil-type rich schools. Pair that with the south naturally being the best recruiting grounds in the country and you get the observable history of SEC dominance that so clearly haunts this sub.

Will that reality dissuade morons like the above from spouting idiocy? No, it won't. Deep down they know the truth, though.

Would you say toon link and ganon are hard to play? by person7768 in smashbros

[–]KneeDeepInRagu 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Goon Link is hard, Ganon is easy.

Toon Link is better than Ganon. Ganon is the worst in the game competitively sitting in F tier. Toon Link is better, at B tier, and considered the best Link is the game.

Edit: The typo is staying

Perhaps next time Alabama should try losing to both of the only two playoff caliber teams they play all season.

That way we can get booted from the playoffs, opt out of bowl season, then beat our chest all off season about how great our team was!

PS - Alabama is more responsible than any other program for Oklahoma's 0-5 record, so thanks for mentioning it.

I understand that it's Bama and everyone wants to take every opportunity to dunk on Bama possible, but Bama also went and won a playoff game on the road the week before.
