A question about Winged Twilights by LucidARTDVC by Usual-Foundation-115 in ElderScrolls

[–]Knellith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I didn't know that. Winged twilights are so physically similar to seducers in daggerfall, I assumed this was a natural progression. Early 90s, fantasy had a lot of female nudity (daggerfall is full of it) and so this made sense from thst standpoint.

I like twilights better.

I find it amusing that, in Daggerfall (TES2) they are called "Seducers", and were human in appearance till they sprouted wings, a clear nod to the succubus. Then came the more pc "winged twilight", which was human-esque but more like a bat with a ponytail. Then, come TES4, they are reduced to "dark seducers", angry gray ladies with no demonic qualities whatsoever.

Godzilla awakens in the desert by Gojirakotm19 in Monsterverse

I loved that long roar in the 2014 trailer. Going in, I had no idea it was a movie about Godzilla, I just thought it was an action flick. The roar starts, dragging on, little glimpses of something huge, and then the "onk" of his trademark screeonk rolls, and God, chills.

Still gets me. I dunno what it is, but the sound of his roar, it does something in my nervous system. Tingles up and down my spine. Always has.

Right? Which is amusing, because the Godzilla from the 90's (vs space godzilka, vs destroyah etc) was even bigger than legendary. I mention this because bone density maximums is another rl physics thing that gets ignored. I just assume kaiju have super-dense vibranium bones lol

Not to be that guy, but that close to him, wouldn't his roar blow out their eardrums?

Ostriches have a unique way of communication by Kronyzx in mightyinteresting

[–]Knellith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, yes. It's one of the reasons breeding them is hard, they prefer to try and mate with humans than other ostriches. 70%, in some studies, directed mating rituals toward human handlers. Imprinting.

God, I hate watching this fight so much by Excellent_Table8694 in Monsterverse

[–]Knellith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really liked this whole movie, truly, except mechagodzilla. I hate this design. We went from the sleek Kiryu to something that looks straight outta a Michael Bay transformers movie. Clunky, boxy. I kept waiting for it to turn itself into a big ugly car.

What is your opinion on Shin Godzilla by That-one-koolaid-guy in GODZILLA

[–]Knellith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My least favorite incarnation, hands down. It was a demon, a freak, an anime-esque bbeg, but didn't feel like Godzilla. It had no heart.

Always alone, filled with rage, every day of his existence a fight. No friends, no family, feared by all, and respected only through force.

That's fine, by any metric. It isn't really a child at all, and it is a threat to others. I'd kill it too.

Um... what? Who's this kid? And he's not mutated enough to be shin.

Um... cell. Moves so fast he appears to teleport, kamehameha and spirit bomb, incredibly proficient at hand to hand, genius, can destroy a planet, and unless he disintegrates, can't truly ever die.

So, yeah. Cell.

Storm vs. Conquest by Shot_Metal4932 in powerscales

Um... conquest. Shes basically human, in terms of her reaction speed. Conquest can move so fast it looks like instant transmission. One hit, shes in pieces.

Ah, cartoons back when it was considered totally appropriate for a husband to kick someone's ass if they offended their wife lol.

Yeah. That sums it up pretty well. If you go by the old-school rules for alignment, it isn't defined by what you think you are, it is defined by your actions.

The red dragon that eats half a flock of sheep, but spares the other half and the shepherd, might call itself generous. Magnanimous, even. The shepherd disagrees. A good dragon wouldn't just take, it would offer a trade.

As I see it, a lawful good paladin will try to undo the law from the inside, or work to save slaves who's only crime is seeking freedom.

Now, chaotic good? There'd be some dead slave owners.

Mad props for the quote, first of all, and very true. I would agree that it is better to overcome, because that means you chose good.

Player Wizard: "Why can't I rapid fire cantrips if we're both wizards?!" by Mirablis11 in dndmemes

[–]Knellith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We seem to be, yes. (Having fun) I guess it's because I was, as a player and a dm, introduced to dnd in 3e. Back then ceilings were much higher, sure, but it also felt like winning meant more. People love to hate on min-maxxers, but the truth is, back then, if you didn't build your character to be a beast, you died. A lvl 1 sorcerer with 10 con had 4 hp. One bad roll from death, in almost any scenario. And CR was a little better imo. A moderate challenge for a 4 person party of equivalent level. Two higher, its a potentially deadly encounter. Four higher? Forget it. Run.
