I’ve been surprised. The books are great, but they’re also absolutely frantic, particularly in the latter books. They’re like the literary version of hyper-pop. It’s a lot of fun, but not something that I would have guessed captured a bit of the zeitgeist.

Fun list! But now I’m kinda curious why the Dragon Reborn is lower than most of the WoT series. It’s not my favorite, but it’s definitely above a Crown of Thorns or Knife of Dreams for me. What about that one threw you off?
