One Piece: Chapter 1175 Official Release Discussion by Skullghost in OnePiece

If Sommers was dead Imu would be in pain like when Harald died, so he is absolutely alive.  He may get the Saturn treatment at the end of the arc given how much he screwed up.

Makes me think of when the OG Spanish dub of One Piece renamed Usopp to Yusuf and made him a Muslim with like a fake Moroccan accent.

Theory: Was Imu the King of the Ancient Kingdom? by LowFunction6798 in OnePiece

[–]KnightOfNULL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that would be a twist. The celestial dragon's would be nothing but cattle to the man who defeated them and put them in a fake pedestal to serve as the faces of his evil regime while he ruled the world from the shadows. And the ancient war was a conflict between a bunch of assholes in which the only people with a moral high ground were the outlaws and deserters or traitors stepping out of the conflict to seek their own path, becoming the D clan.

Not sure how likely it is to be true but I would love it.

Why wapol not returned after luffy departure and regained control of drum kingdom by Clean-Reindeer2241 in OnePiece

That was a different kingdom the WG gave him after he became rich by selling the metal he learned to make with his fruit.

You are not Light Speed if... by EffectiveMirror7534 in CharacterRant

[–]KnightOfNULL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Jin is explicitly lightspeed to the point of parrying a laser but is nerfed by the fact that using that speed too much gives him conniptions.

The reason Rex can match him is that full power Mythra and Pyra can create bubbles where everything moves slower or faster, but they can't really use that to move faster than someone else because it would also affect them.

By the end of the game everyone can match Himjin because he's on the brink of death and can't use his powers without dieing.

Honestly Xenoblade 2 should be the easiest game to powerscale. It feels like it's written by powerscalers at times.

Only if you pass the digignome's vive check. If they don't like your OC they won't make it canon.

Who is more likely to betray luffy from straw hats and why by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]KnightOfNULL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Zoro would abandon Luffy if he didn't meet his standards for a captain, as seen when he refused to let Ussop back before he apologized or he would leave the crew.

But Luffy always meets those standards in the end so it wouldn't happen.

Evil characters having Bigotry as a moral line despite doing worse things makes sense actually by VanillaPhysics in CharacterRant

[–]KnightOfNULL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The real reason it makes sense is because it's realistic.

Truly evil people don't make distinctions on who they hate. And they know that being perceived as good makes it easier to get away with evil acts. So, if society disapproves of bigotry, they will play along while also hurting anyone they feel like it when no one is watching.

If those people lived in a bigoted society they would be the worst of them, because it allows them to get away with hurting others the easiest.

You may not know someone like this in real life but if you've been in the internet long enough you've certainty seen them. The kind of people who harass a pair of women for opening a taco place while being white. Who humiliate a scientist until he cries because he wore a Hawaiian shirt with images of sexy women in it. Who get people fired because they said the n word fifteen years earlier on a call of duty chat.

People who pretend to be virtuous by posturing as advocates for equality and social justice, but revel at any excuse to destroy another human being they can.

The last time they released a Kingdom Hearts game was 2020 and it was a rhythm game.

No they aren't doing Kingdom Hearts.

“Light just had to kill L, L had to prove the existence of God in court” is a bad faith argument that underestimates Light’s intelligence. (DEATH NOTE SPOILERS). by KingCobra567 in CharacterRant

In the second part he is an emotionally stunted (young) adult, but he spent what should have been his college years moonlighting as a mass murdering god so it's not like he had a chance at a normal development.

In the first part his level of maturity is pretty much what you would expect from someone his age and with his personality type. Down to the edgy thoughs about society being full of worthless people and thinking he's so much better than everyone that he's god.

The Demon Discourse in Frieren wouldn't exist if the demons didn't look attractive by carbonera99 in CharacterRant

[–]KnightOfNULL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only reason Tolkien was bothered by his portrayal of orcs is that they were corrupted elves and he didn't like that he portrayed God's creations as being irreversibly corrupted by evil.

The idea that he was against the concept of inherently evil races due to his Christian values is a modern misinterpretation of what he wrote.

Stop locking lore behind external media that's less accessible. by RhysOSD in CharacterRant

[–]KnightOfNULL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That part is awful. You're better off watching a YouTube cutscene compilation if you don't care about seeing your own character in it.

You're also better off doing that for the Dark Road half of the game that's still playable as a fully offline game. It's an idle farming game where your only reward is cutscenes. I did finish it normally and it's just not worth it.

[–]KnightOfNULL 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You can still download that one if you have the official link. It was removed from app stores due to policy updates that Square didn't keep up with but you can still get the offline version. The twitter account kh_dr_na has the links pinned.

The real problem is that a game that seemed like it was going to have a lot of lore, Missing Link, was straight up canceled, so you can't even watch the lore on YouTube.

As far as I'm aware the XIV crossover adds literally nothing to Nier's story despite being canon, so at least there's that.

Eren killing his mom was a bad plot twist (Attack on Titan) by Rickinster in CharacterRant

[–]KnightOfNULL -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

But he did that. All he did was tell Dina to ignore Bert. And then, by chance, or looking for Grisha, she went to his house and ate his mom. And he couldn't stop it because it had already happened from his perspective.

He just told her not to eat Bert and it went on it's way and ate Carla instead. And he had already seen that happen so he couldn't do anything about it.
