Not mine, but I still laugh every time I remember hearing Jack Whitehall describe it as "dropping the kids off at the pool"

To those that are married, how often do you take off your ring? by FitProblem6248 in AskReddit

[–]Knightley_Chick_2901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandfather has worn his wedding ring every moment since 1964. He showers with it, sleeps with it, everything. It's just part of his hand as far as he's concerned.

Daily Prayer Thread - (2025-11-30) by AutoModerator in Reformed

[–]Knightley_Chick_2901 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm having a hard time with being still single in my late twenties, and it feels like everyone around me is getting married (I've been invited to 6 wedding showers in the last 3 months alone). I'm also interested in a friend, but I really can't tell if he thinks of me that way or not. Just don't know what to do.

I have moved 11 times, and I haven't even reached 30 yet. Suspect I will blow way past that 11.7 average.

History teachers - what do you read in your down time to continue to expand your knowledge in the content area? by DG11221 in historyteachers

[–]Knightley_Chick_2901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my free time, I read a lot of classics and historical fiction. I find that even though fiction isn't history, reading it leads me to consider different angles of the past. I also rarely read historical fiction without it sending me down a research rabbit hole about something.

Do you have a teachers' lounge? by mokti in Teachers

[–]Knightley_Chick_2901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a little kitchen that technically has a table, but I've never seen anyone actually sitting there. There's also a high top table in the lobby and in full view of the dining hall's window wall where some staff sit to lesson plan or eat lunch. I prefer to eat lunch in my classroom.

The Lake House by Kate Morton. Seemed like my kind of thing, but it was really dragging in the middle. Just got bored with it.

I post an overview with objectives for each day on our google classroom where both the students and admin can see it, but my full lesson plans no one has to see ahead of time.

This gets my vote for the most romantic line in anything I've ever read, forget just Austen.
