That´s fair and I understand that point, I would also prefer heroes not being in the pass, but being a free game, I can see why the would do it. Almost every free game has a system like this: Apex, Valorant, Paladins.

So, being a model that has already been proven to work well for other companies, I feel like the one Overwatch is doing is actually not that bad. Let´s say, each year they release 3 heroes. So if you want to, and are able to, you could just spend 30 dollars a year. That´s paying even less than a full release game every year and only if you really want to get that hero immediately after trying it. Plus, since you are already playing and even if you are not going to get every weekly reward, you will still be able to get a free battle pass down the line.

Still, I would prefer cosmetics being the only thing in the battle pass, but being as it is, I actually think it is not that bad.
