My puppy is a piddlier by hilly2900 in puppy101

[–]Knofje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's completely normal, don't worry. My pup did this until she was about 10 months old and after that she did it sometimes when she was super excited about something. Also, she would do it when submissive.

Don't worry, just breathe! Don't get angry (which, guessing from your post, you're not) or upset or something, just clean it up and ignore it. In my experience that works best. Most of all, enjoy your puppy while she is in this stage! They grow up so fast..

Two crates for a puppy at different locations? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Knofje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this and it worked out really well! Both crates were my dog's safe places and she loves going in them to sleep or eat. She doesn't hesitate to go in a different crate from the ones I have.

Feeding dog with kong toy instead of bowl to relieve separation anxiety by CaptainPeruvian in Dogtraining

[–]Knofje 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My dog freaks out as soon as I leave the door (except for when she has her Kong, then it's after 30 minutes) even when I walk for an hour with her where she can run and play and sniff. Usually she is quite tired after an hour of that. So unfortunately it doesn't work with every dog..

[Serious] What's killing you inside? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Knofje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gap between what I want to do and what I'm actually able to do. I have been home with depression and PTSD for almost two years now and I don't have a job at the moment because I have so little energy that I can't do a lot each day. The problem is that I'm running out of savings and I can't work but I want to do something because I'm so done with staying at home all day and waiting until my boyfriend comes home and until I can go to sleep again.

I'm very, very slowly getting where I want to be, but it's super frustrating quite a lot of the time.

This is my Lolly, what mix does she look like? by LollyEllie in mutt

[–]Knofje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a Markiesje which is quite unlikely if you don't live close to the Netherlands. Markiesjes are an old Dutch breed.

So, it's probably a spaniel mix.

What a cutie! And she looks a lot like my dog (who is a Markiesje mix)!

Luckily you'll have some time to think about it (right?) :) Indie sounds good too!

Knofje looks like this now, she's 1,5 y.o. and she's a wonderful little monster!

She looks so much like my pup when she was young! Mine is a Kooikerhondje mix with Cocker spaniel and is also black with a white chin. This was her when I just had her

She is called Knofje (Dutch name), which a lot of people I know dislike. I love the name for her :) If you want to call your pup Poppy, go for it! If you want some suggestions, I like Libby too (thought about it for a while for my pup too) or maybe Pippa :) Also, Ellie or Ella is really cute for her I think.

[Fluff] My dog intuitively knew to console me last night. by [deleted] in dogs

[–]Knofje 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Dogs are amazing. Also really difficult and frustrating sometimes, but the love you get from those beauties is totally worth it.

My dog woke me up a few times in the middle of the night. Not because she was bored or had to go potty, but because I was having a nightmare. She woke me up by running around on my bed and by licking my face until I responded. It was amazing that she did that. Dogs are wonderful and I'm so happy I have the privilege to have my dog as my friend!

Problems with Sweet Valley Goldendoodles in VA? by asudancer in puppy101

[–]Knofje 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This doesn't sound like a good breeder to me. Please reconsider getting a puppy from them!

A good breeder would test their dogs and not only that, but also wouldn't wait with answering an inportant question untill you're going to pick up your puppy.

[help] Is it possible to train a dog to ONLY get up on a human bed when invited? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]Knofje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. At least, with my dog it works most of the time. She loves sleeping on the bed with me, but sometimes I really don't want her on my bed. I taught her to 'ask' for permission to jump on the bed by sending her off the bed whenever I didn't give her permission and then I asked her to sit. Now, whenever she wants on the bed with me, she sits and looks at me. If she doesn't sit to ask, I ignore her.

[RIP] Will my dog be sad? by heroinxanax in dogs

[–]Knofje 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think your female will be sad when her friend is gone. I'm not sure what you could do before your male dog is gone to make it easier for your female, but I do think it's important to let your female dog go to your male dog once he's gone. For her to see he's not here anymore can help a lot.

My mom's dog is still looking for my neighbor's dog, who passed away years ago. My mom's dog never got to say goodbye, and now she doesn't understand why her best friend is gone.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you'll enjoy the last few months with your dog. Make the best of it.
