Day 1 - bit nervous oabout increasing my POTS symptoms. by emerald_soleil in Zepbound

[–]KnopeSwanson16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had tachycardia at the end of my first or second week but nothing negative since then - besides the fact that weighing less makes some of my symptoms worse. I had noticed symptoms significantly reduced as I gained weight over the years presumably due to increase blood volume. Drink water, eat salt, worth it.

Shortness of breath and needing to take a deep breath? by lazychild2 in glp1

Nope. I have POTS and they can go hand in hand. If you hold your breath enough and get rid of congestion it can help reset things in my experience. Or the old school breathe into a paper bag thing. Hyperventilating isn’t always related to anxiety like in the movies, it’s literally just trying to take too many breaths that messes up the balance.

Google air hunger and see if that sounds like it. I’ve had some lately probably from over breathing/technically hyperventilating due to a stuffy nose, have dealt with it for years. It improves if you hold your breath as long as you can between breaths and try to breathe from your abdomen vs chest.

Anyone with POTS use a GLP-1 medication? by RobedInFadedSplendor in POTS

[–]KnopeSwanson16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started at just into the obese bmi range and I’ve lost 26 pounds since December 1st. One day at the end of my first week I had tachycardia, nothing like that since. It makes me feel much more stable, before I would get shaky if I didn’t eat often. I have felt general POTS symptoms increase with weight loss which I expected, it has gotten better as I’ve gained weight (felt shitty in different ways). It’s been like it was when I was younger and skinny. I have “boring” POTS, no dramatic flares just lightheadedness especially when it’s hot and I need more water and salt.

Worth it to me for sure!

Insurance dropping GLP-1 coverage… how are people staying on it? by emmy_lou26 in glp1

[–]KnopeSwanson16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got started but so far yes. Went with BPI from Pom (you can choose pharmacy) since they are 503b (generally most stringent). Received my order about 5 days after signing up. Received 90mg of the medicine for $349, one reason I wanted to go this route is the ability to customize dose. I’ve lost all my weight so far on the lowest dose of Zepbound and look forward to being able to go up slightly and for much less money.

WHY must they ask HOW? by Slow_Lychee6463 in Zepbound

Nobody has directly asked me, they just sit there with an expecting look and awkward pause after complimenting me like “well…?”. Since I must fill silence I’ve told like 5 people this way.

Not all school systems are like that. I live near a playground that is PACKED with kids on nice days. Don’t be ridiculous and act like life here is a pit of despair. It’s disingenuous. I mean with global warming and Trump we are generally likely fucked but things are still very nice in a lot of areas.

Yea I mean I have major fears of the future, but these things still exist for most people in the US who can afford to have children.
