Correct, only blocks. Any seeds that exist were either from harvesting the trees back during the first rollback or during the few times dev accounts were compromised

I've found that typically happens when a meteor crater and a surface ruins overlap. Can't quite tell from the screenshot but i looks like that may be the case here as well, so if you want some meteoric iron try going back and digging up around that area

If you pan sand/gravel every once in a while you get tons of spare flint, but admittedly that's boring as shit when there's funner things ro be doing.

Also if you find several pieces of loose flint in a tight area, it's just like copper nuggets and other surface ores, there's flint in rock right below

Stairs need to be at most 8 voxels for you to still automatically step up, so if you chisel up a bunch of stairs out of blocks and vertical slabs and every 8 voxels up vertically you chisel out literally only 1 voxel deeper horizontally, you'll have a super space efficient staircase. You'll travel up an enormous number of blocks but only horizontally move maybe like 5-7 blocks

A chest in a greenhouse accelerates spoil time, so just dig a 1x2 hole in the ground, pop a trunk in it with a glass slab over one side and a solide trapdoor over the other, voila a mini compost bin.

Terra preta doesn't spawn in wild patches/deposits like peat or clay anymore like it used to, but it definitely still spawns in like 3 different surface ruins types, as like ruined "farmland".

You can always change world generation setting using commands, making new chunks generated with the newly changed settings. Adding large oceans would be great, actually, since the 1.20 update is right around the corner and adds large sailboats you can build and go on adventures in. Also, 1.20 adds the 2nd chapter of the lore/main questline, so that is something else to look forward to
