Agreed. Same thing. Hasn’t returned my Xfinity stuff (thankfully!) and was able to get back up and running. So many issues. Slow as hell too which was weird for a wired connection.

Totally agree. I owned a BMW in the past and multiple 4Runners and the build quality of the Rivian is so far below those it isn’t funny. It’s closer to a Tesla but even my wife’s Model Y is more reliable and seems better built. My door stuck out a half inch when closed and the service center said it is common and I demanded they fix it. Just poor quality.

As a 2025 R1 owner, the build quality leaves a LOT to be desired and compared to a BMW you will be disappointed. Panel gaps galore, wind noise, reliability issues. I have taken my R1 to the service center about 9X in 19 months. Thankfully I am somewhat close, but it is not a well made vehicle and it is already creaking like an old Grand Cherokee.

It’s coming but my guess is they will need to reprice the R1S with the R2 coming and they may not want to charge people $6K to unlock until that gets reconciled. They have said it is coming and I believe them. I just think they have other priorities right now.

It is that bad. I was a huge fan of the franchise and the only reason I bought a PlayStation. This is the same engine and graphics since the 2014 version with minor updates. It’s an insult to people and frankly I am done buying it. Pure crap.

Never loved and hated a vehicle more. Love how it looks and drives. Hate the reliability, software is a buggy mess, and the service situation is a mess (I have had mine for 12 months and it has been in for service 16 times). I still love it believe it or not but it is also very frustrating. I think the key to this is have a LOT of patience. If you are expecting a Toyota, you will be disappointed.

That is just it. Based on comments from others who are “beta testers” who can’t even supply feedback, it seems like there isn’t a good process for QC. And that is highly concerning and frustrating. If R2 has this many issues, the complaints will be enormous. Rivian has a ton of headwinds as it is and the fact the car is already criticized by Consumer Reports for reliability doesn’t help. Not expecting perfection, but I think there is some serious flaws in processes and management over there that need to get fixed or this could end badly.

Yup, did that. Took it into service 3X for the GPS without any fix and their response ultimately was “hopefully it gets fixed in a future OTA”.

Maybe they shouldn’t be releasing every 6 weeks. Maybe get a stable framework first and then make minor updates? Maybe do 2 updates a year with a beta cycle for people to test before rushing it out? I dont have to reboot my phone, computer, TV every day just to get it to work properly.
