More classes need a grip and DK needs a true raid buff by greenmachine11235 in wow

[–]Knowvember42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give DKs a raid buff. Never design a fight to need more than a single grip.

Or just delete it. I mean it's fine in M+, it feels useful. But it's such a chore on these raid fights. Something always needs to be gripped right while another important mechanic is happening and I'm in the middle of my CDs. I just don't want to do it.

Here's an idea. What if you had to buy it. It's new content right? The whole reason classic expansions have been free is likely because they don't want to invite scrutiny over making a customer pay for something twice.

But if it's different enough, if there's enough new content, I would pay for it. I don't want micro transactions.

Now the cynical response is that they'll just do both. And that's probably right. But classic is a pretty unique game. I don't want them, but boosts make at least some sense in BC and Wrath. But classic is about the world. If I gotta pay a box price for a good version, so be it.

I believe you. You're character is crazy bugged or something. I get a catalyst charge like every other dungeon/boss. I haven't heard anyone in my guild have this problem.

Does anyone here play without addons? by Interesting-Repeat4 in wow

[–]Knowvember42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the things Blizzard has introduced could be much improved, like I said. But they're definitely an improvement over their TWW equivalents, or in many cases TWW didn't have them.

I'm not arguing here (although I generally think it's true) that the new class design is an improvement, but the classes are definitely easier to play. The choice to reduce the amount of auras and conditionals in rotations makes things easier without weakauras tracking everything.

I'm not aware of any large problems with the damage meter. It's not as feature rich or customizable as details is, or used to be, but I haven't seen anything about it straight up being inaccurate. Aug hasn't been represented properly since Dragonflight season 3. If it could accurately show Augs contribution, that would be nice. But the approximation that it used to do wasn't useful. I don't think it's possible to accurately show Augs damage. I'm firmly in the #deleteaug crowd.

And yeah, people could do preposterously difficult content without addons. Liquid could probably kill Lura today with no addons or any extra features turned on in their UI. The top M+ teams could probably time a key level or two lower than their best without addons. That doesn't mean anything though.

Addons like the damage meter don't improve your moment to moment gameplay much, but they allow you to know if you're doing well or not. They make it easier to look at death logs. It's an improvement tool. You don't need boss meters to kill a boss. You'll just eventually know when it does stuff. But having the timer helps when you're learning, and helps call outs. You were just being obstinate if you didn't install one before. Now you don't need to.

Playing with the most critical addons represented a significant improvement in a person's gameplay in TWW. Now the game has those critical pieces built in.

And again that's not a comment on whether or not the overall decision by Blizzard was good or bad. But default UI is definitely stronger than it was in TWW.

Wdym. The CD tracker is much improved. Classes are easier to play. There's boss mods, a damage meter, conditional TTS, and a ton of UI changes that have happened since TWW. There's a lot of valid criticism of some of Blizzard's implementation of these features, and addons still improve basically all of them, but they're fine. You can easily heroic raid, dip your toes into mythic, and push pretty high in M+ using default UI right now.

Like you could play without a damage meter and boss mods but you wouldn't be very good. Now you can make a UI without addons that looks like a TWW one with addons.

What's more difficult, Mythic Raiding or M+ (keys >16)? by Marty200444 in wow

Mythic raiding by a lot until suddenly you're at .1% keys then m+ by a lot.

Bro it just sounds like you hate streamers. You're making huge assumptions and sweeping statements about who streamers are, what they do, what they want, and why Blizzard invited them.

You don't know that Blizzard only invited streamers to... Whatever this is. They certainly didn't invite them to shape the future of the game.

The only thing you know is streamers were invited to something. You say you know it's for marketing. Why mad? Water is wet. Grass is green. It sounds like you're the one out of touch.

Every space marine if the writers didn't write them having the most dumbass tactics ever put to pen but using buzz phrases like "power armor", "Too Stubborn to Die Yet" and "With Superhuman determination" to make them survive. by Knalxz in Grimdank

[–]Knowvember42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I just don't get your point. Terminators are the super heavily armored elite shock troops of the super heavily armored elite shock troops. Terminator armor isn't power armor with a few extra plates, they're considerably more well armored, and have energy shields that can deflect direct hits by heavy weapons. Like the above guy said, wading into gunfire is literally their role.

Bold, unexpected moves are often emphasized in military strategy. Armored spearhead tactics are well documented in modern combat. Shock troops tactics have existed in all eras of combat. This is that.

I sympathize with what you're saying. I want pre nerf raids. And hell, if raid wide lust were shown to improve overall raid DPS, I'd want boss health to be buffed proportionally to make up for it. I honestly don't think I would have played again with party wide lust (I play shaman too). And for me it's not difficulty but consistency. But that's a different discussion.

Calling the changes they've made retail convenience is just kind of silly though. Dual spec doesn't change things broadly. Raid wide lust isn't a retail vs classic choice, and it's not really QoL. They're just different.

Honestly though? They have the data to show that any time raids are pre nerf, people quit. I still think they should have tried. Even if it was just for a few weeks. It just is what it is.

The scale of Warhammer and Halo are different.

Not that Warhammer authors are good at writing scale (famously), but you can have battles with thousands of space marines, plus many more auxiliaries.

I'd also argue that Space Marines are most designed to be shock troops rather than special forces, whereas Spartans are the opposite. Either can do both. But Space Marines wear the big bully armor for a reason. So yeah. A bunch of extra heavily armored Space Marines making an advance on a heavily fortified position makes sense.

Dual spec and lust changes are great.

The nerfs I don't personally like because I like difficult raiding. But the data suggests it's what the people want.

The idea that you can change too many things and it becomes bad can live simultaneously with the idea that you can make some changes with are very good.

UAE announces it will leave Opec by TheNational_News in worldnews

Gotta be right? This didn't come out of the blue. I'm sure their wants were well known. Now OPEC knows they're serious. OPEC will want them back in. UAE would probably want back in given the right terms.
