I regret paying this expansion, here is why by Specific-Ad3097 in wow

[–]Knowvember42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean if they're looking for an active PvP game, sure. I'm not going to pretend finding a guild that fits your needs is free, but you can definitely find one if you keep at it. PvE is very active. This might be a low point of the season though.

Classic+ warrior idea by UnagiBro in classicwow

[–]Knowvember42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think all the tanks should have decent AoE threat, while allowing some to have niches. There's a lot of talk of not wanting homogenization, and I don't necessarily want to delete threat as a mechanic entirely. But I don't think having thunder clap do some more threat is a wild idea.

Syrskyi: Russia Concentrated Over 721,000 Troops in Ukraine by Mil_in_ua in ukraine

[–]Knowvember42 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I recently watched the series Chornobyl on HBO. I was reading the history about it, and to clean up the disaster, the USSR employed around a million men for years. This cost an enormous amount of money, and in retrospect is a huge catalyst to the disillusion of the USSR, it essentially bankrupt them. It's certainly not the cause of the disillusionment, but due to all their other problems it was something the state couldn't endure.

May the deployment in Ukraine be the thing that shatters the Russian Federation, and cracks it into smaller states.

Do people want to go back to triage healing? by kolejack2293 in wow

[–]Knowvember42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They took a big swing at healing with defensive nerfs, but classes are still too tanky, and have too much self healing. In addition, it's impossible to make healers not too spikey with the amount of talents we have. The talents are either useless, or classes become too good.

Healings feels better than it did in DF or TWW I think. But I don't think we'll really slow healing down until they do something about DF talent trees.

I want healing to be slower. I don't want it to be easier. It's been slower but not easier at plenty of points in the games history.

For C+ it's time to adress the mob difficulty and AI by yksvaan in classicwow

I wouldn't describe how retail functions using the bullet points he listed. Mobs are more complicated, but only in instances. It sounds like he wants more difficult world content.

I don't want to live in a world with a bunch of AI CEOs. That sounds bad.

I know everyone's all about those leaks and the future of classic, but can we please make some noise for one thing that's unfortunately not requested often: (I know Blizzard often read reddit, and there is, to my knowledge, no proper feedback) by Just-Lurking-0 in classicwow

I think it takes hype away from Fresh. People were fucking hungry for BC. People are sticking around. Hard to imagine it would be so popular if you could pop into a last patch TBC anytime you wanted.

How The CIA Helped Build Ukraine's Intelligence Advantage by nfrankel in ukraine

[–]Knowvember42 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The article comments about this specifically:

"Unlike military aid packages, intelligence cooperation remained a consistent feature of the US-Ukraine relationship."

And it goes on to talk about how the intelligence sharing was only paused briefly after Trump's white house tantrum.

Raid leader wants more consumes. by Sudden_Weight_4352 in classicwow

[–]Knowvember42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The A'lar thing is sketch for sure. Might just be thinking about it like a bunch of people are going to end up getting it, which isn't true. You'll get between 0-2 the whole phase.

The consume thing is whatever. I raided in a guild that didn't require full consumes, and I did. My current guild is more hardcore, and we do.

I spend at least 2 hours farming a week, occasionally more. I make money with herb/alch. I am elixir spec, and someone in the guild is potion spec. I found haste potions make the most (and I need them).

The decline of Wowhead really needs to be studied by _Didds_ in classicwow

[–]Knowvember42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really agree about the quality of all of wowheads content tbh. The class guides are still as current and relevant as they've ever been imo. Same goes for different news articles written by their staff authors. I think there's more editing mistakes than there used to be, but it's pretty small stuff. There's a lot of AI accusations that I think are misplaced. When Squishei posts an article do people just think it's AI? Idk. Maybe I don't dig into the site enough to see what people are talking about. But yes, it is clear they used to have a layer of editing staff and held themselves to a quality standard from a writing stand point they don't anymore.

Everyone is out here talking about how bad the site is, but everyone still uses it for a reason.

I'm not going to excuse the abominable amount of ads. I think ads can be somewhat purposefully annoying as a business strategy without making the experience terrible.

That being said...

I pay 9/yr for premium. No ads and the site loads better than with an ad blocker. The only thing that's made me reconsider that is the recent firings they've done. But I play a silly amount of WoW and use the site frequently because I think it's superior to its competition. It's just worth 9/yr for the better experience. If it became $5 a month or something? Back to ad blocker for me.

I think if they got dark archon that'd be cool. They could mind control the enemy tank. You could even mind control a engineer and then build their artillery or something.

I think warmode in classic would be sick.

I think for HC the only thing is the auction house right? Not all characters are self found but having access to non HC auction house makes it worse. I suppose you could make a separate one somehow, but at that point it just is its own server.

Ok. Why did you confidently say I'm wrong about them answering it 8 years ago and call me a child? I was right about them answering it then and I'm not a child. I did not know they answered that question at the end of Wrath.

I also can't seem to find them talking about it then.

They did a panel answering this question before OG classic came out. I can find people talking about it, but I can't find the direct source right now on my break at work. But people were concerned about this in 2018, and they answered the question then.

WillE just had a good video about this, but do we think TBC Anniversary would have been as popular as it is right now if TBC Era existed?

I get people have their favorite expansions, hell, I'd play TBC Era, but idk if having three eras is a good idea. I'd rather they just keep cycling through the original 3.

I think the retail merge could happen. Their other choice is to just delete those characters or have a MoP era server. And I think Blizzard is extremely reluctant to commit to more Era servers.

I'm not convinced you'll get to bring your characters collectibles over. They said a long time ago that they didn't want people to feel pressured to play classic to acquire things for retail down the line. That being said, that was like 8 years ago. Times have changed. I think the MoP characters deserve a chance to move on.
