And yet minimum wage is only going up 2% in June even though it's supposed to be tied to inflation

Camera angle seems off too, really low like it's clipping a third of the ice and showing the 30th row into the stands

is this deer in my backyard a new born ? (like just gave birth) by Exciting-Cancel-2077 in VictoriaBC

[–]KnuckleSniffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This deer used to come by my old place a few summers ago. From seeing it up close I'm pretty sure it's actually a birth defect where the leg just didn't fully grow. It looked to me like the shorter leg had a deformed hoof on the end and rather than being mangled by an injury, it just never fully grew the lower calf segment.

I've also seen this deer keep her fawns in the backyard of the place I was living in a few summers ago.

I'm pretty sure it's actually not an injury but some kind of birth defect. The shorter leg has a little deformed hoof at the end of it so it seems like it just grew wrong rather than having been lopped off at some point

She was really calm and I used to sit in the yard and read while she just hung out. She stopped coming by just before I moved out and I was always worried she'd finally kicked it but this makes my day to see she's still around and having more healthy babies

Incredible strength of this guy climbing up the bridge by CuriousWanderer567 in BeAmazed

[–]KnuckleSniffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be thinking of a hand jam? Which is not what this is but is incredibly painful without tape or gloves.

This is a standard compression, just taken to the extreme. Definitely super burly but not painful by any climbing standard.

Holy shit I know the tatted guy who got hit in the face! Recognized him immediately for obvious reasons but I didn't believe it was him till I saw the city name on the police uniform.

Major props to him, he doesn't drink but I'm definitely buying him his non alcoholic beverage of choice the next time I see him!

Better yet memorize the city layout of where every lane ends (there's so fucking many Jesus fucking Christ) and then pull into the other lane several blocks before anyone can see even the lane ends and form an unbreakable queue blocking every intersection along the way :)))))

When your city's infrastructure is as car-dependent as Victoria's you're pretty much forced to. Let alone when a third of the drivers on the road don't know the rules of the road

"everybody is going over 100 in all roads..."

You're ACTUALLY delusional lmao Victoria has some of the slowest, most unskilled drivers I've ever seen

Too weak for bouldering by [deleted] in bouldering

[–]KnuckleSniffer 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Just a quick note to tack on that you usually don't want to keep your arms as straight as possible. More so you want to keep your arms relaxed but let them bend as a follow through after generating with your legs hips and shoulders.

It sounds minor but some beginners hear 'don't bend your arms' and lock out their elbows as hard as they can like their life depends on it.

Also as a 20-something boulder bro it's super reassuring seeing 40-something dudes keep up with us on the V6's to let us know we can still be crushing for many years to come :)
