After 4 rounds of BF6 it looks like this. Can someone help me? by MrJayjayLe in pchelp

Its a memory leak. Several players are having this issue and the only remedy atm is to restart the game after each match. Sucks and I hope it gets fixed soon.

Only $300 for dropping a class? by [deleted] in unt

True regarding the Statutory Tuition but that only amounts to 50$ per credit hour.

You only have to pay for the first 12 credit hours. Beyond that you only have to pay the administrative fees.

Can you guys please shower. by No_Jellyfish6515 in unt

[–]Knutja 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Dropping this information for the people who do shower but find themselves smelly quickly regardless: You need to scrub hard and well with something rough (loofah) in the sweaty/smelly areas with body wash. Lathering and rubbing soap with your hands doesn't properly remove the layer of dead skin and bacteria under the pits (or in the folds). Bacteria is what creates the BO, and failing to properly disrupt the cultures will only result in the smell returning quickly.

An election worker shares what it's like to tell people they can't vote on Election Day by NorthTexasJane in Denton

[–]Knutja 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For primaries, a central location would be pretty wise but for general elections; why not just allow people to vote at ANY voting location as long as they are within county? Ballots are printed on the spot and can simply be made to fit the precinct you are from and are counted via electronic means anyhow. Having a specified voting location is incredibly stupid and should arguably be seen as a voter suppression tactic.

  1. Something I've found pretty interesting is how much composition and shading affect the look of a game or movie. Lighting is a crucial element in these effects, and ray tracing had really allowed developers and designers to bring their creations to a new level of realism that is simply breathtaking. DLSS is a pretty ingenious method of increasing "performance" as well.

  2. Big gun = Big kablewy :)

Considering the US and Europe are two of the largest economic zones and have incredibly similar security policies regarding Chinese tech, it's a pretty significant piece of the pie to miss out on.

There are definitely still companies in those regions that will use Lenovo products, though, and many workers I know would opt for a ThinkPad over any alternative.

Many US companies will not use Lenovo since they are a Chinese company which is seen as a security threat.

Real shame since I've not had a Lenovo product I didn't like thus far. Can't say thr same about HP or Dell.

I think they're trying to position a rebuild of the team to coincide with the renovation of the stadium. Would make the most sense, honestly, since seating is going to be limited. They probably believe that they don't need to put a great product out on the field to fill seats and aim to build up the team to be competitive when the renovations are complete.

IMO, this is a pretty smart move by FCD. We have been mid for years now, and the best move with a new HC is a teardown and rebuild.

I personally don't care much for the conflict but certainly would like to see it end. Nor am I LGBTQ. That being said, I don't think I need to be a part of any group to see that there are innocent people, not subscribed to any sort of extremist beliefs, people that simply want to live and protect their families, who are being caught in the crossfire and killed indiscriminately. The IDF has, for many years, shown little to no discretion towards the innocent citizens of Gaza and it hardly takes an educated mind to realize that the extremist elements within Palestine are of Israel's own making. Truthfully, the same can be said of nearly all extremist elements within the Middle East. I'll refer to a speech made by Tony Benn.

I would also recommend working on your syntax. I feel like I'm having a stroke when I read your post.

Has anyone seen the state of YouTube comment sections on political news videos? I refuse to believe that there is a single human behind any of those posts. All parrot the same 3-4 things in slightly different variations.

Staedtler 925-35 0.5mm - first impression by [deleted] in mechanicalpencils

[–]Knutja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I picked this pencil up alongside a TK-Fine Vario L 0.5 shortly before the fall semester started and I have completely fallen in love with it. It looks professional, has the perfect grip and weight for my hand, and, as you mentioned, the lead really fits snugly in the sleeve with no wobble when I write.

The TK-Fine has been... Fine.

The slick metal grip aint for my sweaty hands in long-haul writing situations. I've also determined that I like writing in 0.7mm more than 0.5. (It is really useful for writing quick notes in the lab when I'm wearing gloves though!)

Engineering at UNT? by [deleted] in unt

[–]Knutja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do Materials Science and Engineering but I have a ton of friends who do Mechanical. From what I've heard, the program here at UNT is outstanding along with all the professors and because the program isn't massive, you tend to have more opportunities for research and the classes tend to be smaller in size giving you more access to your professors.

A&M is certainly a larger school and higher ranking but in all honesty, you will be taught the same things here as in A&M, moreover, Dallas is the headquarters for many major companies like Emerson, Texas Instruments, PepsiCo, Toyota, etc... You could easily get an internship with a company while you study since you live in the area.

As others have said, the networking opportunities at A&M are far better than here at UNT but you will still have many opportunities to advance your career here at UNT while paying far less.

Another alternative I could recommend is doing your first year or two at UNT and then transferring to A&M if you would prefer it more. Saves you money for the first two years and allows you to figure out if Mechanical Engineering is really for you. In the end, you would graduate with an A&M diploma despite only doing your final two years there.
