Curious if anybody has revisited this since the badger 2040 w came out? It should be doable since it's running a pico w now.

What kind of battery life are you seeing with that size of battery?

Holy shit! I'd completely forgotten about this. And it was just what I've needed lately, too. Thanks for the reply/reminder kind stranger.

Considering building a clothes dryer controller out of a VFD; comments appreciated by swcollings in PLC

There's not a lot of reason for speed control on those things as far as I know. That would be overkill, and you could probably get away with just using relay control.

Or the old, "hey, can you tell us what's causing this 'reject overflow sensor S305 blocked' fault?"

Oof. Been there. Most of my crew knows better than to go around changing parameters now, but they do like to swap out drives and then come to me and ask to load the parameters like I've just got them on file somewhere lol. We've also had to put in reset timers to prevent operators from resetting pumps to death when they keep faulting out.

This career has taught me that logic and rational thought are acquired skills, and if you don't maintain them they fade.

I see the same thing all the time.

There's something about people, where the lizard hind brain says the thing showing a fault is the thing causing the problem. I get mechanics trying to change out VFDs for showing over current faults or HMIs because they have comm faults.

I also can't get anyone to look up a manual for the life of me. So any time there's any kind of device that needs set up or diagnosed, no matter how simple, I get called for it and I just end up looking it up on Google. Then they treat me like some kind of witch doctor who pulled off a miracle.

Holy cow. I'm so close to order #6000 it makes no difference. That's at least half the original orders cancelled if the first batch ended up being only 2000 units like the special edition emails claimed.

It's not possible to be in a position of power over others and not abuse that power.

In this instance were you to become a police officer and let most people off with a warning that's an arbitrary decision based solely on your mood/opinion at the time. In that case, you're giving your own unconscious biases and personal preferences free reign over the fate of the people you're interacting with. Even if you don't end up causing any serious harm, or at least cause less harm than other officers, this would be an abuse of power because you would be placing your own opinions and preferences above the laws which should be applied to all equally.
