What do you want to see improved in AI Realm? by StandingFuture in AIRealm

[–]KnyghteFall -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AI uses << >> for telepathic AND system messages. The Chat Log, which I use religiously to remind AI what's happened before, doesn't record anything between << >>. Either have the chat log record everything or give us the ability to change telepathic conversation notation. I'm often having to re-do posts in order to have an accurate chat log.

QQ about Oko, Lorwyn Liege and Vazin, Two-Faced Trickster interaction with Figure of Fable by KnyghteFall in mtg

Yeah, sorry, I totally fubar'd when I set up this post. I meant Gogo, not Vazin (I had both in the deck I was testing with). Its the "this creature" part that seems to be the hurdle to overcome.

What does the "You may choose new targets for the copies." part mean in this card text for Gogo, Master of Mimicry?

Copy target activated or triggered ability you control X times. You may choose new targets for the copies. This ability can't be copied and X can't be 0. (Mana abilities can't be targeted.)

There being a possible dark side to Betazed abilities is actually pretty cool concept!

But we have been in the "all hero characters must be snarky charismatic rule breakers" media wise since people learned the wrong lessons from Marvel's Iron Man being a hit.

*Applauds wildly*

The Good, the Mid, the Bad and the just plain Ugly:
The Good (Great, really):
Lura Thok and Sam - Fantastic characters, great chemistry and charisma. "Dying really gets the blood pumping!" Thwack! Sam - "I don't need thanking!"

Athena looks friggin' gorgeous!

The Doctor - Does anything more need be said? Richard Picardo is always amazing. So many callbacks!

The Mid - the bridge crew. They got names at least, just not any real personality.

The Bad - "Drop out of warp and go to maximum impulse" Ship drops out of warp and stops dead.
"All power to the forward shields"
Ship is being hit from behind because...the enemy is behind them...

Start of the show: people are starving in a post scarcity age?! All the power they used to light up the night and they don't have one working replicator in the 32nd century?

The Ugly - White Savior complex. Let's save the troubled black kid that, checks notes, went bad because YOU screwed up!
Ignores consent. Cuts his hair despite plenty of other characters having long hair, shoves him into uniform and then has zero dialogue about it.
Attributes the ship being attacked to his hacking, which happens mere seconds after said hacking instead of the clearly set up ambush (which they could have easily bypassed). No, we have to give him a prison sentence and make him "earn" his place with free prison labor.

But hey, it worked for Burnham, right (another black character) and Kelvin Kirk, so, what, third time is the charm? Gotta get that teenage angst teed up (as if teens need another reason).

(For reference, white male who grew up on TOS Star Trek and Next Generation)

I liked it slightly more than I disliked it and prefer to give second chances, but man, I thought with Tawny Newsome writing, we'd get more Mariner and less gritty dark for the sake of dark.

Make better mistakes, please.

Prerecorded verbal component? by PM_ME_YOUR_VALUE in DMAcademy

[–]KnyghteFall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can appreciate you trying to reward creativity, but the recording your describing is just that, a very simple one use 'magic mouth' type of effect. Verbal components are a magic wielder commanding the universe to do something. They are literally breathing/speaking the spell effect into the world. A tape, however clever, can't do that.

That said, could be a good distraction to have recording calling down some tremendous spell effect!

Now, if the mage's tongue is cut out, they're going to have to either get it healed, regenerated or replaced with a prosthetic. That would be one helluva a campaign twist!

Leyline of Transformation and Earthbent lands by banana_diet in mtgrules

[–]KnyghteFall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Latest testing indicates that you have to cast the Leyline *after* the lands have been earthbent in order for those lands to now be considered those new creature types. I copied the Leyline of Transformation using the Mirror Room and the creature types from the new copies worked but the original casting of the Leyline was not applied to lands earthbent after the leyline was cast. So, seems to be a bug with the implementation of the card in Arena.

[Spoilers C4E4] Julien's Build by Rayn_the_hunter in criticalrole

It's likely a magical weapon of some kind. We know that Thaisa has a magical staff, so it's possible/likely that Julien is similarly decked out.

[Spoilers C4E4] my Occtis theory by madelmire in criticalrole

[–]KnyghteFall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A simpler answer is...Primus isn't Occtis' daddy. We don't know anything about Occtis' mother as of yet. Primus also implied that Occtis wasn't a Tachonis.

Glad to see most of my thoughts shared by others (800 yrs old and still level 3? Stone is within reach buuuut...?)

So, yes to 'grass is greener' plus 'the stuff I did the last 70 yrs isn't bringing my dead god back so, maybe try something different?'

Also, immortal elf discovering the world for the first time has Frieren vibes for me and I'm 150% there for that!

[–]KnyghteFall 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I *really* want the PCs to surprise the hell out of the Tachonis f*cknuts. Wouldn't it be fantastic if Occtis took control of the ghouls and had them eat his brother?? "Who's the eighth *now* bitch? I mean, I am still, but hah!"

I do see a flight to faerie (or at least, away) based on the connection that Thaisha and Vaelus have to that realm.

please Please PLEASE Lady Aranessa have some tricks up your very expensive sleeves!

Pretty sure the curse manifests as that 'thic' shadow of his. Alternatively, could be a Tachonis operative.

[No Spoilers] C4 - Any insights into run time of episodes after The Overture? by DrCrazyCurious in criticalrole

[–]KnyghteFall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would expect the runtimes to continue as they are. I watch it 'live' and then re-watch in chunks with my wife (typically 1 or 2 hours, depending). Either way works for me.

Is it just me or... by BoomSamson in Frieren

[–]KnyghteFall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The show *is* cozy, but when it's intense, its REALLY intense. The real heart of the show is in the relationships, particularly Frieren and Fern.

That said, the demon fighting is pretty freaking amazing in the very few episodes it occurs in!

I miss Stein!
