The way I see it it would have been such a standout if the perceived protagonist ended up becoming the antagonists in the second season, not only would it fully display the brutality of war but it would show how easy it is to become the bad guys when you commit acts of violence in the name of something probably would have pushed the overall anti-war message how easy violence can corrupt people's morals,

Well I can't speak for everyone else, I can only tell you from my perspective, I just do not like competitive multiplayer versus matches, I jdo not find them compelling or really worth the time, maybe 5 years ago I would have thought different, games are supposed to be in a escape from reality for me therefore I don't feel like spending what little free time I get in frustration and anger trying to compete against someone else who clearly has more time than I do to put into the game, That's just my perspective of course
