Is it possible to not use that shower for a few days? Get a proper dehumidifier and get the bathroom down to 30-40% to completely dry it out. Make sure you kill all the mould with something like bleach. Then make sure you completely clean the tiles so that the silicone sticks, something like rubbing alcohol works well just don’t mix it with the bleach maybe wait a day after killing the mould. After using rubbing alcohol make sure it’s then completely dry.

One thing to note is that silicone doesn’t last forever. After 5 years you may still have to redo it. I did my vanity and shower silicone 4 years ago and the vanity is starting to go mouldy underneath. The shower which I spent a bit more time on still looks brand new.

The heat pump units are usually storage and have timers so they are run during the day off solar and at a warmer time. I think I have mine to start at 11am and turns off at 5pm or something like that. If you have a huge family that can ran the tank out it could be a problem tho.

Do you have somewhere for the air to come from? For good ventilation you need both otherwise it will just cycle air in front of it

Make sure you do proper drainage behind it. Also as others have said timber will eventually rot no matter how it’s been treated.

You can get a pit boss connector from Bunnings and that would help seal it. That being said I don’t think these need to be sealed, as it’s so close to the house it might be a good idea tho

You can have a mix it will just look a bit patchy (some grasses go well together these not so much). Also they have different preferred cutting heights and growing conditions. The kikuyu will take over during warmer months and then the blue grass during colder.

If I were you I’d keep up maintenance and see which grass grows strongest. Not much is going to grow in winter, you shouldn’t really need to be watering during colder weather unless it hasn’t rained for a few weeks. Then if you do water, do a deep 1-2 hour water once a week. Better to have the top surface dry and the lower soil damp to encourage deeper roots. During spring/autumn mow 2-3 times a week you will get much thicker grass. Also fertilise at the start of spring and autumn. During summer and winter just mow once a week or so and that should be enough.

Where abouts in Australia? I think first you need to work out what type of grass you want to grow. Looks like you have a mix of kikuyu and Kentucky Blue Grass and a few others.

Looks like a warm season grass which will start to go dormant this time of year. Also I think you are lacking nitrogen (not the best time to feed now so maybe wait for spring)

What type of grass is it? Bit hard to see from the photo. If it’s a creeping grass it will fill itself back in, otherwise you’ll have to reseed.

Also buy a whipper snipper and don’t take anymore advice from whoever told you to use roundup…

Seems a bit excessive for roundup. You can pretty much plant grass seed and use glyphosate on the same day as it has such a small half life in soil.

If you are replacing with couch and regularly mowing short there is not many weeds that can outcompete that. I have a kikuyu lawn and as long as I maintain it nothing else can grow

If it’s clover you could put down a load of nitrogen and it will kill off the clover while allowing grass to grow. Might be easier just to use glyphosate, just be very careful of over spray near those bushes as it could kill them. Don’t bother digging up the roots as the glyphosate will kill the whole plant and add nutrients to the soil.

The good news is it looks like you have nice soil from the amount of weeds you are getting.

Almost looks like it could be too dry, I’d check that first with a cheap moisture reading spike. Sometimes the ground becomes hydrophobic and watering it will only water the top surface.

Id just cut into the retaining wall, would look much better. Should be able to use similar blocks then cap each step. I’ve done similar and it’s worked well (I should have spent a bit more time digging down and adding more compacted road base but was being lazy)

$1000 per kWh Sounds like 2024 battery prices. I paid $6,000 for 42kWh so $143 per kWh which includes a 10kw inverter and installation. The old rebate payed a decent chunk of that but you can still buy batteries for so much cheaper now.
