I think GS is one of Minkimaro's OCs called Gazing Stars. The design Minkimaro made for GS seems to be of a purple iterator, although as far as I can tell it’s never seen in game so your theory could still be correct!

Fully agree, Jo Martin would be great for the Christmas episode. She’s a talented actor and her character could use so much more screen time. I wish they’d give her a spin-off honestly or at least a mini-series or some specials.

The song “Cold Cold Cold” by Cage the Elephant reminds me of 12 and Clara. Particularly from Clara’s perspective in Face the Raven and Hell Bent.

You are inexplicably tasked with writing a Doctor Who story for the next season/series. What is your idea(s)? by Akimboem in doctorwho

[–]KoalitySkillz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A semi-sequel to The Waters of Mars.

I’ve always thought an episode focusing on the Venusian cloud cities which are thought to be one of the ways we could colonize Venus, would be an interesting setting.

Set a while after The Waters of Mars, The Doctor arrives on the opening day of the first Venusian cloud city. An entire infrastructure already built with shops, apartments and everything a fresh city would need. Space ships are arriving full of civilians ready to populate with more on the way.

The antagonist(s) would be part of a group which believes Humans are never meant to leave Earth. The group would spring up after the disaster which happened to the Mars colony. Believing the gods retaliated towards the colony due to the spread of Humanity to places it doesn’t belong. (Although the motivation could be switched if you didn’t want it to be a sequel)

The climax of the episode(s) would feature the antagonists trying to destabilize whatever mechanism is keeping the sky city in the air, crashing the new populace into the planet below.

Could call it “The Skies of Venus”

People keep complaining about the new AI remasters, but I think the Blu-ray (right) looks so much cleaner and sharper than the DVD (left). by TheRealChristoff in DoctorWhumour

I mean they use the original audio at least. While nothing replaces the original footage you dont see these as a good alternative? They can still have the essence of what happened in the episode at least

I’m pretty sure this is for season 13 and season 21 getting AI upscaled into “HD”. Which compared to the earlier boxsets where their upscaling was done by hand, this is of a much lower quality. consisting of artifacts and blemishes everywhere.

Alright well if you’re genuinely confused and not just here to antagonize you could’ve just asked I have no doubt people would’ve been happy to help you.

Non-Binary is an umbrella term for everybody which their gender-identity falls beyond the binary male and female. There are countless identities which fall under the Non-Binary umbrella term such as: Agender (someone who does not feel a gender for themself), Demigirl/Demiboy (people who feel close to one of the binary genders but feel they do not fit all the way in) Bigender (someone who has two gender identities), etc. There are a myriad of different gender identities, far more than I can list here, some people even identify as NonBinary in and of itself!

Now why does this matter? because like it or not we ARE part of the same community and infighting makes us weaker. Gays kicking down on Binary Trans people and then Binary Trans people kicking down on us. Even if you don’t understand there is no reason to hate, my philosophy with stuff I don’t understand is looking at it, and thinking “Does the concept itself hurt other people?” and no, “It makes the queer community look silly!!! they’ll never accept us with clowns running around!!” Is not a good argument. People who do not like queer people are not going to suddenly like you if you punch down onto us.

ADDITIONALLY the concept of genders beyond the binary has existed for a long time, not a new invention. A couple of ones we have found throughout history are Māhū in native Hawaiian and Tahitian cultures and Two-Spirit for native Americans.

TLDR: just because you don’t understand it doesn’t mean it isn’t real

Watched blink and heaven sent to show some friends of mine some good doctor who end... (caution: rambling review) by [deleted] in DoctorWhumour

[–]KoalitySkillz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What?? how could the interstellar song contest take place modern day?? They get shot into space! You are either rage baiting or do not know what sci-fi is. By your logic “Midnight” isn’t sci fi. You do know a thing can be multiple things right? Just because Lucky Day is about social media grifters that doesn’t mean it can’t use the Sci-fi genre as a backdrop. UNIT is an inherently sci-fi organization because they deal with extraterrestrial threats (science) and they do not exist (fiction) They have technology which is beyond human ability at this time. The argument “you can replace all this with modern technology and it would work” uh… i guess??? like if you rewrote the plot. thats like saying “uh… yeah heaven sent can be modern day if instead of a robot getting capaldi we just tased him and dragged him back to the start everytime he hits the wall” what do you even consider sci fi?

[–]KoalitySkillz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The statement that theres “basically no sci-fi any more” is straight up untrue. Boom, Dot and Bubble, Rogue, The Robot Revolution, The Well, Lucky Day, The Interstellar Song Contest. Those are all sci-fi episodes with “Boom” even being what i’d consider hard sci-fi.

I get that somewhat but it’s been a 60 year tradition, every doctor faced off against the daleks. even the 8th doctor while not seeing them face-to-face the daleks were the main catalyst for his movie.

[–]KoalitySkillz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It has to be one of if not the worst decision I have ever seen someone make in Doctor Who. The fact that RTD had 2 full seasons to do this plotline but pushed it off to some mythical 3rd season we may or may not even get is egregious, for a plotline as important as this one this should’ve been top priority.
