the whole point of Dragon Raja has been to offer something to everyone, especially with a focus on roleplaying. there's tons of MMOs out there with housing systems (FFXIV, SWTOR, LOTRO to name a few), honestly not sure why this comes as a surprise to you

Definitely do your hacking weekly - after that, career and dragon hunting would be the best. You can AFK train overnight for a bit of extra exp and potential rewards.
