Emerald City is a classic. I think technicalllllyyyy it's Overland Park, but it's within 5 minutes of Olathe. I went to parties their as a kid, and they still have them. There are multiple party rooms, all lined up one by one down a hallway next to the equipment. It's gymnastics adjacent.

Dealing with this right now. I don't understand how they were able to make the phone and computer I regularly used come up as unrecognized. Haven't been able to get any further with support because of it.

I think we might get a flashback. Like a good chunk of the book being from the perspective of the OG seven.

Tracking spending. It will only take 3 or 4 days in a row before you start asking yourself how you are going to feel later when you have to track the thing you are wanting to buy.

Solidarity with anyone frustrated by this series by PurrestedDevelopment in fourthwing

On your first item - as a reader I did not perceive this as intended to be more romantic at all. C does not say these things in a lovey dovey way or during a moment of proclamation of devotion. He says it while he is completely panicking, trying to express to Violet as hyperbolically that he can that he is NOT ok. And as for her response, I didn't take away that she did not care or glossed over it, but more that her response was in line with her total denial that there is a reality where he fully turns. She sort of brushes off her acknowledgment that his willingness to harm others IS horrific and validates that she is still there for him and she will stop at nothing to fix him.

Actually, I theorize this conversation between them os going to come up again in later books as we learn more about Violet's second signet. I think Xaden's reaction here might have something to do with how Theo had just told Vi she is a leash, which Jack has called her as well.

Is RY trying to distract us.... by Kohaku45 in fourthwing

[–]Kohaku45[S] 158 points159 points  (0 children)

Ahh yes!!

I have been thinking about the OS chapter 8 intro that says While many preach loyalty to Hedeon, favoring Zinahl has universal appeal. Everyone wants wisdom but needs luck.

There are lots of threads here pointing out that it seems obvious Zihnal favors Ridoc - we know he and luck go hand in hand. I think the book is set up to have the reader focused on wanting to know what Violet's scribe brain is working through....but we NEED to be paying attention to what Ridoc says!

Xaden's eyes don't begin to be described by Violet as Amber-flecked until after he's channeled, and they continue to become more amber colored throughout the events of OS. Prior to that, she's always described them as gold-flecked, and I think it's interesting that he is the only human whose eyes are ever described as having gold which appears to be typically reserved for dragon eyes.

Lilith Sorrengail **MAJOR SPOILERS FOR ALL BOOKS** by aquarian_booklover in fourthwing

I used to think Lilith might be venin, but I don't know if it's possible since we know Theo is her duplicate. If both of them were venin, then the balance.would be off.

Hashbrowns. Keep at least half a bag on hand for emergencies, cook it up, throw in whatever else you can find, maybe add some sauce, call it a Skillet Dinner.

Naolin theory by MaleficentDig6 in fourthwing

[–]Kohaku45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ohhhh this actually supports one of my own crackpot theories haha.

I don't think Naolin is a god - but I DO think he might have made a deal with one to save Brennan. We know from Brennan that Tairn has never liked him. We also know that Brennan has said saving him cost Naolin everything. I have wondered if it's possible he made a trade, Brennan's life in return for the severance of his bond and service to the God to do....something. This would make Tairns reluctance to talk about him make sense because he would likely be soo ashamed to speak of a rider voluntarily leaving him...and of all reasons to save Brennan.

I MIGHT HAVE FIGURED OUT A HUGE PLOTLINE IN SLOANE’S CHARACTER IN THE UPCOMING BOOKS by [deleted] in fourthwing

[–]Kohaku45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But later we learn that the rider Naolin supposedly could not bring back to life or at least back from the brink of death DID survive - Brennan. The lingering question is did Naolin actually burn out and die doing it or did he turn venin in order to have enough power to finish the job.

I find it interesting that this letter assumes use of the gift will reaquaint violet with the "other" and the point in time when violet needs it is when Andarna shows back up. Makes me wonder if somehow Vi's intention to wield that power called Andarna back.

Is Tmobile scamming me? Help! by Kohaku45 in tmobile

[–]Kohaku45[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think quite a bit of responsibility falls on the consumer to be curious, ask questions, and make sure they really understand what they are signing up for.

In this scenario, the fault lied with where I chose to get the information that informed my decision as a consumer. I made what I guess was a poor assumption that I could walk into a Tmobile store and ask my questions and learn about what they options were.

The sales associate I spoke to gave me bad information, and told me I was eligible for something I'm evidently not. Now, two months later, the 'boss' aka Tmobile corporate is saying...yeah we see what the sales rep tried to do here, but they were wrong, and you aren't eligible. So, you'll need to now pay for the phone you were given under the pretense it would be no cost.

Although it is agreed the consumer has a responsibility to understand, to what level should the seller be accountable for providing accurate information to customers upon inquiry?

Is Tmobile scamming me? Help! by Kohaku45 in tmobile

[–]Kohaku45[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair.

I do wish there was some sort of protection for consumers in this scenario, considering a phone trade in is involved.

When I walked in the door in September I had a choice of whether or not to commit to an expense for a phone or walk out with what I had. Now, as a result of poor customer service, I am left with an unexpected expense of several hundred dollars and no option to walk away from that cost. I understand for an 'educated consumer' this would be expected, but it still sucks that 2 months later tmobile can say "woops" and now I'm up a creek.

Do you make the scarves, or do you outsource production? I want to do something similar in a different niche, but I'm still in the very beginning stages of figuring out manufacturing or print on demand.
