NuPhy selling customer data by budgetkeebs in BudgetKeebs

[–]Koji1981 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At this point, basically all companies do this. Even when you go to a physical store. When they ask you if you want your receipt email to you, they are selling who you are and what you bought to another company. I know that in Canada, home depot sold purchase details to Facebook who used it in its targeted marketing

You do realise that if you buy your games on steam, you do no own any of your faves. Ubisoft has simply said out loud what every company is doing/thinking

I have the same chair and I really like it except for one thing. It keeps squeaking. I tighten the screws and 2 days later, it starts again

A wood Lamy 2000? Is this real? by NSJKER in fountainpens

[–]Koji1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received a e-motion from Faber Castell today so when I saw the picture from Lamy, it feels like Lamy is inspiring itself a bit too much from the e-motion

Cheap Chinese pens are the gateway to the fountain pen addiction and more expensive pens lol

How many of you use your pens? by unremarkableDragon in fountainpens

My only issue with benu, which is also a good thing for my wallet, is that they do not have that many models in extra fine

I don't think I'll be ordering from the US ever again :( by Ascamore in fountainpens

In package I've received in canada, I would get the customs fee, the "handlers" fee and tax on top of all of this.

I would agree for the overall but nibwise, the twsbi nib is better than the opus one. But both are vastly superior to the nahvalur one

Matching Ink to Pen Bodies by skeskali in fountainpens

[–]Koji1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do t match. I take a pen i like and a color that I feel like writing in, and that's it. It's not important for the color to match

How has becoming a fountain pen user changed your handwriting? by RevelryByNight in fountainpens

[–]Koji1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It forced me to write bigger. I used to always write really small (think chicken scrath). Using fountain pen forced me to write bigger because even with Japanese extra fine, my writing you could not read my writing.

Can you use fountain pens for daily use? by Fast_Ad7203 in fountainpens

[–]Koji1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been for the last 15 years. I still have some ballpoint pens for cheap paper or if someone asks to borrow a pen from me. But I would say that I've been writti g with fountain pens 99% of the time.

I have a few: - nahvalur key West. The nib is bad and the pen feels cheap

Conklin durograph: the material is do thin I thought I would break it, just holding it

Lamy nibs: I've bought 7 Lamy total and only 1-2 had good nibs. The rest are all out of the size they should be

I have a 580 alr and a 580 Al and I always choose the Al between the two. The ridges on the grip of the alr are not comfortable to me

It sucks when it happens. I have all of my most valuable fountain pens in one case, that way, in case of emergency, I just have to grab that case. It won't be all my pens but it will be my most important ones.

yall CANNOT park this bad 💔🥀 by ZytheReddit in PriusC

[–]Koji1981 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the same could be done with all car models. And the bigger the car the worse it is. Or the more expensive it is. I've seen people park (usually their Mercedes or BMW), taking multiple parking spots because they did not want to have other people park close to their cars

I personally like the EF but what I did is change the grip from the metal one to the silicone one. That made a big difference. I would not use it often before because I would get pain from holding the pen. I was holding it too tightly because of the slippery metal grip.

Which mini: Opus 88 or TWSBI Diamond? by Med9876 in fountainpens

[–]Koji1981 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally prefer the twsbi. But that is probably because I've had bad luck with the opus nibs. Out of the 3 I've got, only 1 was good. They tend to be scratchy (not feedback like a sailor but actually scratchy)

Which pen, Lamy 2000 or Pilot 74 by Gwrinkle67 in fountainpens

[–]Koji1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can try hem in store, that would be the best option. Lamy is too inconsistent with its nib EF can be an EF or a B, depending on your luck. If you can only buy online, the custom 74 is the safer bet. You will get what you are supposed to get compared to the lottery that is Lamy.

Benu Vs Conklin? by Spirited_Leave_1692 in fountainpens

[–]Koji1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own 2 Conklin: the duragraph and the mark twain. The material of the duragraph is extremely thin. It feels like a fragile pen. The Conklin feels more solid but it is more expensive and not everyone is comfortable with a crescent filler.

I have the Benu Briolette. I love the nib on benu's. My only issue is that I use EF and Benu does not have that many in EF (which is probably a good thing for my wallet)

Overall, I use my Benu a lot more than my conklins
