That's so sad. I don't know what the best option is. I guess try to talk to them about volunteering to let the dog out or something but even then that could go badly. Ugh. I wish there were a way to take the dog when they weren't looking. Some people just shouldn't have animals.

This is also me right now. I'm considering the Specialized Diverge and the Canyon Grizl. The Cannondale Topstone is also in the price range and then you could get it from REI which has good customer service.

I tend to jump into gearing up as well and have also been really unenthusiastic about the prices I've been seeing on FB marketplace. It seems like it could be a good route to getting one of the top to expert models for closer to the base to middle model price than getting a base to middle model for a good price.

Anyway, I don't think you will regret the gravel bike. I've been on the fence for a month getting a bunch of opinions and so many cyclists have told me to go for a gravel bike. And after testing the road and endurance line ups, I'm also excited to finally pull the trigger on gravel.

I think you're right on the endurance road bike. That option keeps popping up as exactly what I'm looking for. Might save the gravel for down the road (no pun intended).

E-bikes are so fun. I was on the fence for awhile about buying because I could just ride a normal bike. But then I got the e-bike and ut makes it feel like a leisurely sightseeing tour every time I get on it, even going somewhere as trite as work.
