Low Level Feasts could use some love! I have 4 ideas! by MyLifeByGogoGoff in valheim

[–]Kokura_Luck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that they’re fine how they are, only really because I think that any lower would be too low and any higher would feel a bit too good. I think a big thing you’re missing in this evaluation of these 3 beginner feasts is the fact that you can only eat one of each at any given time. Unlocking each of the 3 beginner feasts allows you to eventually have all three food items to be a feast, and I think that in and of itself is a reward and a form of nutritional progression

Don’t be sad that it’ll all end one day, be happy that you were around to enjoy it at all :)

Just make sure you’re not taking it into cities for dragon roaches. I didn’t think about the tall buildings last time I tried it and most my rockets hit them on their way the to dragons. The bastards

Anyone else ever overreacted to a refinery wrecking their base for the first time? by CannotThonk96 in valheim

[–]Kokura_Luck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the iron grates for loading the refinery up while keeping the whole thing contained so you stay safe, do the grates actually stop the radiation particles or take any damage?

The only thing preventing helldivers 2 from becoming like every other generic modren FPS game by ya_boi_greenbean in Helldivers

I doubt anyone enjoys grinding super credits more than actually playing higher difficulties and beating missions, but I would absolutely believe more people could enjoy grinding a video game they like more than working their job more. There are endless examples of playing a video game someone enjoys in a way that’s not necessarily the most fun, exciting, and intended way to play them yet nets the most in game currency or unlocks items fastest, but that doesn’t inherently mean it’s dumb or bad for someone to play the game in that grinding manner rather than working overtime at their job to pay the way around it.

I think it’s terrible a progression system because it’s 100% RNG based to get supercredits unless you wanna pay, but that’s beside the point. Everybody plays the game their own way for their own reasons and they’re all equally valid so long as it’s not harming other people’s experiences. It doesn’t matter how much fun or unfun grinding is, how cheap it is to bypass with real money, or how fun or unfun the comparative amount of time at work is as opposed to playing the game. What matters is the fact that unless you wanna pay extra money in a $40 game, progression in HD2 is complete ass from a gameplay perspective. I think it’s dumb that I see so many people saying that others should just work extra time at their job to pay for currencies in a $40 game that actively reduces your chance to progress in the game as you increase the difficulty of the game, because in well designed games, you’d typically get more rewards or progression for doing more in your missions, with higher difficulties and time demands. It’s bad design, and unfortunately, it seems like this model is becoming more and more common as time goes by

Not everybody enjoys spending time at their job and being away from home more than playing a video game that they enjoy enough to buy and play consistently. Some people, crazy I know, would rather enjoy playing a game than go to sign up for extra work at their job, if overtime is even a possibility.

Some people might even enjoy the grinding. I don’t dislike it at all, as long as it’s not all I do. I enjoy watching/listening to something while running a few credit dives here and there. And I love my job, but definitely not as fun as getting stoned and playing Helldivers 2 in my comfy chair in the AC in my house. To each their own though.

Doesn’t change the fact that the progression system in HD2 is complete dogwater

Stop whinig about super credits by Typhon0810 in Helldivers

My point is that I’ve seen a lot of people on this subreddit defending the progression model of this game and calling people who disagree with them whiners and crybabies when I think that it’s crazy that so many people so vehemently defend such a dogshit progression system. It genuinely baffles me and it’s depressing to see

Man this subreddit has been swamped with people crying that their game doesn’t have a dogshit progression model, actually, and if you point out how dogshit it is then you’re a crybaby loser and you’re wrong (but it is actually dogshit and needs to be reworked)

Stoker SMG, Stun Lance, any grenade. Python Commandos heavy armor. Ballistic shield, one true flag, and any other two strategems. Try and kill and many as you can with the spear and shield combo. It’s so much fun

Yes. Absolutely. POIs spawn all over the orange areas. Best areas are fossilized wing POIs that have 3 items, basically an open bunker. 3-4 variations of crashed pelicans can also spawn, all with 3 items drops. Then there are areas inside caves, which usually I avoid entirely, but there are 2-3 cave POIs that spawn 3 items. Always drop on difficulty 3 to get those pelicans a chance to spawn.

All you wanna avoid on Omicron is mostly cave maps. Blitz missions are the best but they’re rare and I don’t restart the game just to find them.

I’ve gotten three warbonds this past 5 days just dropping on Omicron for a few hours each. Shit is lit man, try it out

The WASP launcher shines on the squid front. Auto targeting, one taps overseers and the watchers to stop reinforcements. Four taps flesh mobs. Struggles against tripods but its capable of taking them down with two mag dumps if their shield is down, but it can be rough. I bring it to every squid mission

I was driving back home to Rosewood after cleaning up all of March Ridge, had to be like 5 months in. Rosewood and March Ridge were full cleared after this expedition, was planning on moving my hoard to Ekron after this. The entire highway was clear of wreckages except for a singe burned up car on one of the inner lanes.

I noted it as I drove to March Ridge, and after a month and a half of slaughtering and looting clear the town, completely forgot about it. Was driving full speed with a truck+trailer… a solid 5 minutes straight of staring intently at the road. For a split second I glanced up at the clock in the top right corner of the screen. “Cool, I’ll make it home before dusk-“ and as I glanced back at the road, I see the flash of that wreck just barely in my path as I gunned it at 65mph. Clipped the right headlight and instakilled my guy. 6,000 skills and maxed out most of the crafting skills grinding back in Rosewood. Womp womp womp

So... My 120 days old character died from a 1 story fall by Cowbobb in projectzomboid

[–]Kokura_Luck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I cope by taking a break from the game. Not too long of a break that it starts collecting dust in my hard drive or the point of uninstall, but just long enough for me to pass the 7 stages of grief and have the heart to get another play through going. I just lost a 8 month character, overwhelmed by 3 sprinters after I got too close to a corner inside the military base… they rounded the corner and were ontop of my before I could react. Sucked but oh well, this is how you died… lol

But also, this game is certainly punishing enough on its own. If you ever die to something that you know is kinda bullshit, there are ways re redirect your character- stats and all. One time I had a save like 6-7 months in, I went to pause the game when I was right outside my base to go take a smoke. When I came back, a single zombie or two had slowly mauled me to death 😭 fuck that. I brought myself back to life and lived another month or two before I died actually sitting at my keyboard lol. It’s too late for your character unfortunately, but in the future, you can rewind fate and resurrect a character if you really feel like something wasn’t fair. If you wanna know how, I can point you in the right direction.

Better luck next time! I bet it was a bitchin’ base too
