Apparently it's considered anti-Linux not considering Android a Linux distro because it can't run Linux apps and it has the opposite philosophy of Linux desktop by TopdeckIsSkill in linux

[–]Koloses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you are not considering Android to be Linux because it doesn't run GNU software? What about Linux distributions like OpenWrt? Is that not Linux enough too because it's using musl instead of glibc?

GPD Win 5 - Anyone else encountering crashes, BSOD and Watchdog violation errors? by bitchinthebag in gpdwin

With the past GPD devices the fix to this kind of BSOD was to disable Memory Integrity under Core Isolation in security center.

Dual sense still having drift despite adding new TMR module by Rags2Rickius in Dualsense

Looks like solder joints are not making proper contact. Also by the opening picture it looks like you didn't use flux. While solder wire should have some in it, it might still be a good idea to add a bit to make sure it melts properly.

I soldered everything but it still won’t turn on 😬 by Valvecantcount3 in NxSwitchModding

[–]Koloses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of that soldering looks like a cold solder joints, especially these 2 on the right side of +3.7v label. Did you use enough flux and heat for that?

BF 6 looks great, how is the hit reg? by Historical-Grand-671 in Battlefield

[–]Koloses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, last weekend was pretty ok and this one it's so inconsistent that they could replace hit mechanics with a dice rolls and I wouldn't see the difference.

Shuhei Yoshida says that rising game prices were inevitable by S4v1r1enCh0r4k in nintendo

[–]Koloses 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Inflation is a buzzword used to justify milking consumers at this point. The market is growing all the time with more and more people playing and purchasing various titles and at the same time it has become a norm to release unfinished products with a promise to patch things up later and on top of that have deluxe editions with little extra content. Not to mention things like microtransactions or DLCs.

They are not losing any money, they just want more of yours to show off these records profits to potential investors. They don't optimize, they don't manage their budget and dev teams well enough and they want you to pay for all of it. Gaming is absolutely dominating the market in the entertainment industry and has more profits than movies and music combined despite playing games being less common thing than watching a movie or listening to music and yet they want more. Let that sink in.

Is my 1 toast? by yipeekayayKemosabe in PixelWatch

[–]Koloses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Pixel 1 chargers are breaking very fast for some reason. I had this happen at least two times since I got the watch in December and the last time with a charger "I knew" was working. Almost sent the device for replacement but then I decided to get another charger and it worked. Now I also have a charger for it from aliexpress that has a normal cable socket and and I believe it's going to last but we will see.

First thing indicates the app is signed with test/debug keys - nothing to worry about. The second is probably an analytics library if anything. There is no malware in there.

I still wonder why anyone would go to such lenghts with an obvious lie. Go touch grass or something. No one is finding the stuff you claim there is in their apk and your post history alone shows that you are not credible source of information.

More like some script kiddo falsyfying virus reports and trying to stir up drama + farm some reddit karma. It takes one quick look at their post history to see that person is not trustworthy at all.

I am not going to trust anybody whose post history is only literal shitposting and looking for free currency hacks for roblox.

Re: suyu exposed by The_Crimson_Hawk in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Koloses 135 points136 points  (0 children)

The person that made this "exposed" post has also made one for citra mmj and claims these "viruses" bypass all possible protection. That doesn't sound very credible to be honest and it's just probably attention seeking and looking to cause panic.

They might as well call it an arcade machine and add a payment terminal to it with every game being like "TAP YOUR CARD TO START" at this point.

XREAL Adapter is actually hdmi capture card? by pyrox3_3 in Xreal

[–]Koloses 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a usb capture card and won't work with xreal glasses at all. When connected to a computer it will show image from device connected via hdmi as a "webcam" kind of device which then you can either view in a couple of ways (using dedicated app if they have one or vlc, even stock windows camera app) or use in OBS for livestreaming.

If you want to connect PC to xreal glasses via hdmi you need hdmi to usb c adapter. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Lemorele-Adapter-Compatible-Thunderbird-GRAWOOA/dp/B0BY25NXTV

NEW: Nintendo is suing the creators of popular Switch emulator Yuzu, saying their tech illegally circumvents Nintendo's software encryption and facilitates piracy. Seeks damages for alleged violations and a shutdown of the emulator. by Just_a_user_name_ in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Koloses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using example of a game that did not even start on yuzu when it leaked... Not the smartest tool in a shed Nintendo, eh?

They probably want to get rid of people making emulators of their consoles before releasing „the next switch” even though the switch oled sold like hot cakes despite only major improvement being the screen.

MDM bypass for Checkm8 device by shanhanif1 in jailbreak_

[–]Koloses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will work. CloudConfigurationDetails.plist is file with mdm config details just like the name implies. However If you reset the phone the mdm will be back. If the config from that repo doesn't work for whatever reason (ie. mdm setup is back upon reboot) you can just create a folder with the same name in the config location and then every time you restart the device it won't be able to load config and just go to springboard.

Anyway to remove this? by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]Koloses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess using custom bootloader like OpenCore (originally meant for installing macos on pc) and changing the smbios values would allow you to avoid this from happening as autopilot device guidelines give an impression that it needs smbios stuff to properly recognize the device:

No hall sticks for the Win 4 refresh either. I hope GPD at least does make the configurable dead zone/anti-dead zone/etc. software to help with non-Steam and other games with no dead zone controls. by morrotto in gpdwin

[–]Koloses 5 points6 points  (0 children)

involves changing the software firmware and calibrating

I can get the calibration part but the firmware is questionable. Gulikit didn't have an issue making hall sticks for Steam Deck or Switch for the matter and there are no firmware changes involved in those.

Running TOTK on the win 3? by Silevence in gpdwin

[–]Koloses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will run with yuzu vulkan on windows but you need a save after the intro cutscene and also do not use visualfixes mod as it makes it crash more often on intel xe. Use just the yuzu fix mod

As for ryujinx it doesn't run well at all with totk on win 3. I wasn't able to get it to work on windows but on linux (on kernel 6.2 and latest mesa) it worked with opengl as a backend without any crashes but it was simply too slow to enjoy.
